30E good diagnostic bras, shallow

My calculator numbers and results:

78 76 71

90 94 89

Cm

Suggested Starting Size: 30F in UK sizing

The sister size of 32E may be more comfortable.

I have had a breast lift a few months ago so I need to buy new bras now the shape has stabilised.

I think I am full at the bottom and shallow. My favourite bra at the moment is a Lonely Bonnie in 34dd, which of course would seem to be wrong 😆. I love pretty bras, but I guess I can play with style once I have the fit right.

I would like to buy a couple of bras online because I can't stand doing it in store, and get some advice here on the fit. So please suggest bras that the lovely and helpful folk here are familiar with. I am in Australia, but can probably source from anywhere.

Thank you for your time!

bra shopping in the Balkan region!

I need help for anyone in this reddit who is in the Balkan region. The shops here all have different letters and numbers for bras, for example one shop carries 30D but the other goes 75F or something like that. I can’t for the life of me figure the charting system. Has anyone cracked it? what kind of system do they use in the balkans especially in North Macedonia (i usually buy my bras from Tezenis, Calzedonia, Lc waikiki, Women’s secret)? and I need some good bra store recommendations as well!!

Bras for short rooted, bottom full breasts

Photos in fit checks in previous posts. Wondering if anyone has similar breast shape to mine and has recommendations for bras (lined or unlined, wired or wireless)

Plus size bra recommendations

I’m about a 48 band comfortably and the cup seems like a B. I reaaaaaaly would like a push bra, but the ones I buy from torrid give me a large cup size. I can’t provide any cleavage with the large cup they have as there’s a bunch of room and the cup sticks out. I’d argue the B cups I’ve bought from Torrid are suspiciously a C cup. Thanks in advance!

Understance is having a 40% off black friday lingerie sale

Understance is having a 40% off sitewide Black Friday Sale now until 12/02. Has anyone shopped from this brand before? Do you recommend it? I’ve read some reviews, and it seems like they focus on functionality and comfort. The prices are also good for the budget.

[ rant ] i am so deeply uncomfortable, 32G dense heavy wide set

my boobs are 32G (30 rib, 38 bust), have a wide range of placement across my chest (think 'shallow' but with lots of projection still), are wide set, super dense, heavy, and firm. i have always hated them. i have used the calculator so my size is correct. its impossible to find a bra that fits and is comfortable and looks good and is affordable for a broke college student. ive been trying for years. my mom gkt my one that was in my right size, but was super uncomfortable, made them look huge and round and awful, and boobs pushed the bra down my chest. i have been trying on and off to go braless cuz its most comfortable, i like the look (on others, rily), and i cant find a bra. but when i do, they bounce around and swing and it hurts so bad sometimes. it pulls on my chest and skin and i hate all the movement. i also hate the look. my nips are all puffy and makes my boobs look like laura crofts in the original tomb raider. its impossible to find shirts or tank tops that fit my boobs and my ribcage, that my boobs dont also stretch out and make the 'tent' look. i am almost a year into ED recovery and tbh this has been making it rily hard for me. if they have to be this big could they at least be softer and look nicer? why cant i just have itty bitty titties. everything is so uncomfortable avout them; the look, the feel, the bras, no bras. it all makes me feel depressed about them, ugly, hopeless, stuck. i wish i could go onto the boob gallery pages and actually see boobs that look like mine. i wish ppl wouldnt say "oh they arent rily that big". i hate them sm.

im posting to hopefully find someone that has the same or similar boobs and problems so i dont feel so alone, and maybe det some advice

I'm sorry but I just.don't.understand. What is the difference between shallow and projected?

What on earth does "self-supporting" mean? I'm pretty sure I'm classified as pendulous, as the root is pretty flush to my body and most of the tissue is at the bottom with bottom fullness. Is this projected with bottom fullness?

I used the calculator (half in tears because I don't even have a measuring tape and tried to use my belt but it was too short. Eventually I used my husband's belt and compared it with a retracting aluminum tape measure to get the measurements), and while I've been wearing a 36-38 C or D my entire life (46 y/o), it's giving me 38 DDD/G.

This is shocking and I'm afraid I'll waste money on yet another bra that arrives and is massive on me.

I would like to narrow it down to a brand. Can anyone provide more clarity on the shallow vs. projected? The images just aren't clicking with me and I'm so tired of decades of poorly fitting bras :-(

What is my real bra size? Does it differ with each "brand" or something?

I have 3 bras in total and theyre all from triumph, the triumph measurement chart suggests im a B cup (EU) but after using the ABTF measuring chart it says im a J cup (EU), why do the charts give me different results and how do i know which ones correct? I feel like my bras fit me just fine imo but this has me second thinking.

i’m confused about sizing and my a bra that fits calculator size?

heres my measurements in inches: loose 30.5 snug 28 tight 26.5 standing 33.5 leaning 37 and laying 34 and it suggested starting at 30dd in both uk and us. the one thing i’m confused about tho is the fact that the snug is 28 yet it suggested a 30 band size? why would that be bc ik bras are supposed to be a snug kinda fit so is it maybe a shape thing lmao

Brand with different cups, same band but all same size

I recently bought bras from a brand, and was wondering how their size system work. So for instance, they put 30A, 30B and 30C under XS, and 34A/34B/34C is M. I always thought cup sizes would affect the fit but seems like 30A and 30C will be both wearing xs. How does that work?

New bras after breast reduction

Hello all, I had breast reduction 4 months ago, and now obviously need new bras. I came drom 38DDD and now got recommended 40E (UK size).

My exact measurements are:

38

44

Any recommendations for me? I used to wear T-Shirt bras. Seems they are not a great choice from what I have been reading in this community.
I had compression and sports bras since surgery, but I would like to get some proper bras to wear with something with a little more cleavage or a wider neckline. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why is all this so complicated in the first place?

Maybe this is a silly rant/question, but why is picking the right size so difficult in the first place? I didn't have these issues for any other type of clothing,. If I didn't find this sub, I would have NO IDEA I was wearing the wrong size and how to fix it. The people working the stores are frequently misinformed too. Surely there has to be a better way, right?

Small Boobs Looking for a Sexy Bra

I'd like to find a sexy bra, lingerie, or set for my boyfriend for christmas. It seems that all the super cute ones cater to big chests. I'm a 34A or B and am 5'6 116lbs. I'd love a corset type of thing or something he can "unwrap." It would be super if it was somewhat affordable. This seems unattainable since a regular bra is running $40+, but give me your best suggestions. Thanks!

Minimizing sports bra? HELP!!!

i work in the medical field, and wear scrubs and NEED a sports bra for work. i have searched high and low for a minimizing bra that is also a sports bra but there doesn’t seem to be many on the market. i have tried the bare necessities absolute wire free minimizer and it unfortunately wasn’t enough coverage for me and still gave me quite a bit of cleavage. regular sports bras lately have been giving me a pretty saggy chest. my band is 32-34 with DD cups. hoping i can find some suggestions!!

Opinions about Freya Francie's or any other similar bras

I'm in the market for a wide band bras and Freya Francie's is not available in the size and colour I need near me but I can get it from a online store across the pond, but with no returns. Would like to know if it's any better before I take a gamble.

What am I doing wrong with bras?

My measurements are 29, 28.5 and 28 inches for under bust. Bust measurements are 35, 39.4, 36 inches. It says 32G for me. I have been wearing 32G bras. But I have observed that they got me very well for 3-4 months. Then as the weather sets in, it's almost impossible to find a balance between the band fit and the straps. I am in the US and have been spending so much on bras from thirdlove. Also I machine wash my bras and hang dry them. I am confused what am I doing wrong. Are they really supposed to last only about a year? I have about 6-7 that I rotate and use. Anyone with similar experiences? I am tired of investing in good bras but not getting their full lives out of these investment.

Edit: I just ran my numbers carefully several times. Everyone who said the band sizing shouldn't change is absolutely correct. It was my mistake. Due to black Friday deals I was researching bra sizes for a while and having worn 32G for so long, I apparently did not read the numbers correctly. It does show 30F/FF (UK) and 30G/H (US). I apologize. Didn't mean to mislead or spread wrong information. Thank you to every single person who pointed this out. 🙏🏽

Gossard Superboost Padded Plunge but narrower?

Hi all,

Just received the Gossard Superboost Padded Plunge bra in black (30G) and it makes me look really good cup wise, also felt comfy in the band. But the straps were in my armpits!

Any recommendations for similar fit but narrower?

Thanks!

Keep measuring as E cup but don't feel that big?

I keep measuring as one but feel like I'm average, at best. Been wearing a B/C cup for the past few years. E just sounds so big!!

Best affordable stores for a 30D?

With black friday coming up I definitely need to move out of the VS bras that don’t fit me. I would like some store recommendations for a 30D that might do a black friday sale!

I have a simone perele half cup in a 30D I got for free from a contest and I LOVE the fit, but they are way too expensive for me haha.

Thanks!

Between Sizes, need help or recommendations on what to do.

Between Sizes!

Need some help unless I am SOL. Right now I am between sizes (wearing a 32D) even on the tightest notch I have some gapping in the cups. I was recently resized at a 30DD, but I get too much boob chub on the side of the band. The cup fits OK, but the 32DD seems to fit me a little better.

Has anyone gone through this? What did you do? I primarily WFH so i don’t wear a bra often, but when I do, I’d like it to fit lol. Do they offer a 31 band size anywhere 😂

UPDATE SIZING:

Loose Underbust: 30 Snug Underbust: 29 Tight Underbust: 28 Standing Bust: 34 Leaning Bust: 35 Lying Bust: 36 Sizing System:

UK (recommended): 30DD

calculated my size, 32f/ff, bought panache envy balcony bra and band was too tight? what now?

Hi everyone! posted on the sub a couple of weeks ago, trying to confirm my size because was unsure. for reference:

  • Loose underbust: 32 inches
  • Snug underbust: 31 inches
  • Tight underbust: 29.5 inches
  • Standing bust: 38 inches
  • Leaning bust: 41 inches
  • Lying bust: 39 inches

resulting in 32 f/ff (I mistakenly put 34 f/ff in the op). I bought the panache envy balcony bra and whilst it was a good fit for the cup, the band was really tight, I had to put it on the loosest hook and eye closure and it was marking my chest after 15 minutes use.

not sure what to do now, because I have seen discussions on the thread that if you change your band size it can impact the cup? I thought the bra was good! just way too tight so want to exchange for another size but am unsure what to exchange to? should I just go up another band? thanks for your help!

I always thought I was a 34A, I was so doubtful when I measured myself and bought a bra but, here we are

Okay, so I came across this subreddit and saw someone who mentioned they always were a 32A or something and the size calculator said they were a C cup.

This convinced me to measure myself because my entire life I ordered 34A’s. The size calculator said to start with a 32D.

I just got a bra from Amazon for an easy test and was so unsure if it would fit because it looked so large.

It fit. Like I filled it out. I’m in utter shock.

Looking to try Polish/EM, unsure of what size to go with.

Recommendations and discussion, really. I’ve been hunting for a bra for. Four months now? Idk. But its been too long in my opinion, and now it turns out I’m on a time crunch (short of it is I’m going to a wedding in February, not mine, and thankfully the dress I will be wearing does not require a hyper specific bra, just one that fits and has a low gore and wires. I’m short 😔).

After doing a little more analysis of the girls, I think I may be narrower than originally perceived? I have extra fat all over, I won’t lie - I’m definitely not a little thing. It seems like (when my arms are down) the breast tissue ends ~1 inch before my arms. I’m going to guess that puts me on the narrower end of things. If anything, it kind of makes sense. It felt like a lot of the bras I tried had wires that seemed like they went too far back. This, on top of needing immediate projection at the wire, led me to wanting to go Polish.

With measurements provided from before, the calculator put me at a 38FF/G, and that roughly translates to 85FF/G in Ewa Michalak, right? But I’ve also heard her bands run tight, so I’m not too sure what size I should go with.

Measurements: 39/36/35/46/47/45

PSA: check your size at least once a year/with any body changes!

I've been in the same size for many years (yes, I think it was the right size for a long time), despite a little weight gain and loss through that time. Going through perimenopause now and I've gained a little weight in my upper body and boobs and was feeling like my bras weren't doing their job. This has been making me feel uncomfortable and self-conscious, feeling like I hate my body. Finally went to a store in person and realized I went up a band AND cup size. 🤦🏻‍♀️ The saleswoman said she recommends getting re-fitted every year or so. I feel so much better now!

So confused. Currently wearing 34A [Measurement Check]

The measurements I get tell me that I'm supposed to wear 32 DD and it just doesn't seem quite right to me.

Underbust measures at 31" - 32"
Bust measures at 36" - 37.3"

I once had one at 34C, and it seemed too big.

I've been wearing 34A and it seems like it fits.

One thing of note is that I believe I have a bit of pectus excavatum, so the gore will never lay fat against my sternum. (When I took my band measurement, I don't force it to the sternum, I let it have a gap)

I'm confused.

Advice on bras after a back tattoo

I am getting a back tattoo in a month and I'm not going to be able to wear a traditional bra while it heals. I've got larger girls and can't go without for work. I've thought about sticky bras but I've seen that some of them are one time use. I don't know where to start, if anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!

First time using a bra calculator

Hello everyone.

I have been lurking around and I finally decided to post. My boobs came out when I was like 9 or so. I have always wanted a reduction and been saving, but since that is not happening so soon I Decided to give it a try on the calculator. I wanted to ask how accurate is it? because I have always used 36 D or 36 DD and the calculator shows 34G which I feel is much bigger than my actual size, mostly the cup. would I maybe measuring wrong?

thank you

It took nearly all year, but the 2024 audit of BraShopDirectory is complete!

That doesn't mean that I didn't miss anything. There are a LOT of stores on my list.

A breakdown:

670 stores on my Excel sheet.

197 are closed (sad face)

183 carry bra-sized swim

259 carry cup/band sports bras

88 carry men's undergarments

18 carry Polish (only 1 carries ONLY Polish)

194 carry nursing/maternity bras (only 1 has them as their primary product)

22 have been identified as trans-friendly (by their customers not just because the store said so)

240 carry mastectomy bras (this list is wholly incomplete but more comprehensive lists can be found on the respective mastectomy brand websites for their retailers. I'm not in a hurry on this because this demographic is far from overlooked in the retail world.)

As always, if there are any stores that you know exist that aren't on my website, please let me know.
