So, this particular topic really grinds my gears as an avid anti-monarchist. You would think in this day and age of free speech that all Irish celebrities would be comfortable in declaring their dislike/hatred of the monarchy. Perhaps though it has gone in the opposite direction and they are afraid to pin their colors to the mask in fear of offending someone? Well, I think it's neither of those two options and the vast majority of Irish celebs based in any country in the world including Ireland are closet monarchists. Well, except for Dermot O'Leary and Craig Doyle, a huge part of the pro monarchist bias that constantly infests itself all over This Morning, loud and proud monarchists are those two. With a few obvious exceptions like James McClean, any celebrity affiliated with Sinn Fein or Paul Mescal recently who didn't show approval towards meeting Chuck it seems that all Irish celebrities are secretly massive closet monarchists who yearn to show off their love of the royals but feel they will get shunned by the Irish public if they do so. Anyone have any opinions on this? Am I being too dramatic? Why do you think most Irish celebs keep quite about the monarchy except for when they look all too eager to talk about coronations and all too reluctant to talk about royal family funerals when they are topical?

#abolishthemonarchy
I want to ask a question for a project in college but after clicking through 10 posts it seems every comment is anti-monarchy and I won't get any responses from the opposition, which in essence makes the question an answer in itself, a congealed bias of biases.
Do you ever get any pro-monarchy people on this sub responding or is it a circlejerk. (btw i'm anti-monarchist)
I know this feel irrelevant but its a common comeback to when monarchist try to say immigration cost us more than the royal family
There are accounts clearly run by bots on different social media platforms.
It's most noticeable on Twitter where whole accounts will tweet out the same type of message about "camilla being beautiful", "William being hot", "Kate being a saint" etc. and will push content that is meant to put the royals in a postive light.
The bots also mass attack anyone who speaks negatively about the royals.
38 million people visited England in the year of 2023 (I was one of them, I chose England because of the magic of an existing monarchy, so did my family)
Lets assume a measly 10% of that number (3.8 million) decide to visit for the same reasons I did.
3.8 million people visited for monarchy. A two week trip to the United Kingdom on average costs around $3,219 (£2,492) for one person.
I spent alot more than that, but let's assume that everyone spends half that average...
so (3,800,000 x 1600 (rounded down half of 3219)), is 6 billion dollars.
For the sake of nothing, lets cut that number in half and call it 3 billion dollars.
Anti-monarchy group Republic has said that the royal family costs Britain an estimated £510 million ($680 million) per year. I shall continue my generosity, and say they cost 1 billion dollars, twice the inflated amount.
Even when given every possible advantage, numbers cut and increased to their favor, anti-monarchy argument still ends up with the fact that they monarchs brought in 3 billion, cost 1 billion, Therefore netted the country 2 billion dollars.
Now please, tell me the rational argument towards abolishing the monarchy, is it just wanting not calling someone "your highness", if that is all it takes to net the country 2 billion dollars, isnt it worth it?. (keyword: net, since I factored in the monetary cost, I assume the only argument left is the social status one?)
Note: Every advantage to anti-monarchy was given here, please tell me why I am wrong.
