I plan move to Aberdeen next month, any recommend for me to rent the apartment ? I have 1 child with 10 years old. I see some property in Torry and Tillydrone, the rent is resonable, it is approiate for my family?
Planning on going for afternoon tea with my mates from Mintlaw next week.
Any recommendations for a good afternoon tea within around half an hour drive max, from Mintlaw?
I know Country park inn, Saplin brae and happy plant do it, but would prefer to go off a recommendation than just blindly pick.
I know it has a reputation for being dead, but apart from the few places open, with few people in, it was like the zombie apocalypse and I did feel a bit on edge with people in dark alleyways and meandering around.
Also is there any way to get into the Bon Accord car parks when it has closed without using the no pedestrian ramps? I went round the whole block, going up one which led me into the wrong car park, which I couldn't go through to my car park so went all the way round til I went up the ramp where I started. The car parks themselves are so anti-pedestrian with no walkways and are difficult to get to with fear of going into an LEZ or bus gate.
Why does the Bon Accord centre close at 6 on a Saturday? Where does one park on a that's not in LEZ on a weekend night? Why would anyone even go into Aberdeen on a Saturday night?
I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.
Hello Aberdonians! Sorry if I spelled that wrong. My family and I will be visiting from Texas for the holidays and I’m looking to find a candlelight Christmas Eve service. My husband’s family lives in Blackburn and he is also from there, but they are not religious and aren’t sure which church might be a good fit. My husband is also not religious so it will likely just be myself and my sons attending. I’m a member of a Christian Bible church in Texas (Christian but not Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian etc., although I’m definitely not opposed to attending any of these types or other Christian churches) so I was hoping to find something similar. Google hasn’t helped much. I really appreciate any advice! Thanks y’all! 🤠
Does anyone know please when the fireworks are due to end in Garthdee in Aberdeen. I have autism spectrum disorder and there's already been a few over last few days but the ones tonight have been going for hours and just wondering if anyone knows an idea of when it is due to stop please
Hey as the title says im hearing so many fireworks now isnt the fireworks happening on the 5th?
Why would they be going off today Nov 2nd?
Bit of an odd question but I'm curious. AJs has the nicest variety of lovely pizza toppings and I really like the option to add a "Finishing Touch" as it's not something I've seen before.
I get a tomato and mozzarella base, with artichokes, pineapple (be nice), mushrooms and mild house sausage. As a Finishing Touch I get honey. It's such an unusual combination and honestly it's the nicest pizza I've ever had.
So, does anyone else have a fave combo? Something a bit odd that hits the spot for them?
Hello, probably a slim chance but I'm looking for recommendations/opinions on a service offered at the new dentist I'm now a patient at (Bridge Street Dental practice).
They offer 2 types of scale and polish, the bog standard NHS one and their 'premium' scale and polish. I was interested in getting the latter but it's priced at a hefty £120, I was just wondering if anyone in this sub has had it done and if they thought it was worth the money?
It's basically a longer, more thorough cleaning that also has aesthetic benefits because it supposedly helps remove stains and makes your teeth whiter. Any recommendations if someone has had it done here at this practice or something similar at another dentist would be great.

Also, why does King's church have an air traffic control tower?
Any decent private fishing spots in Aberdeen somewhere?
I don't fancy paying hundreds to join an angling association, I just want to find a nice wee private spot I can go to every so often with a mate or 2. Cheers 👍
Found on a lamppost in Luxembourg of all places, me and my pals were losing it. Anyone have any context?
As per title.
Long story short, I said to my FIL he could borrow my car tomorrow but just realised it's MOT expires today.
Anyone know someone who'll do one today. Can do cash and a decent price to save me from shit creek.
So I recently got a notice saying that because I hadn't paid my ticket I need to pay the full charge. The problem is I am currently at uni, so any notice that got sent to my address was not recieved, and I never saw the ticket on my car. How do I appeal this? I put it through the city council site but didn't see any option.
I have an old dog who’s relatively healthy but can’t manage long walks anymore. I’d love to take him hiking but it’s no longer on the cards.
Are there any places I could take him for an outing that allows dogs and isn’t just a park?
Places like Dobbies garden centre and Pets at Home are dog-friendly and he enjoys having a patter around. Equally, any activities or places I may not have thought of, please do suggest :)
Thanks in advance!
Is there anyone else dumbfounded by this allegation of racism for using the term "a new scot".
To me this term has been used for years to denote someone from ANYWHERE in the world who has CHOSEN to make Scotland their home and thus become a Scottish Citizen, hence why the are a new scot, i.e new to Scotland and welcomed here for making the CHOICE to move here.
So today we are comparing the destruction of cafe 52s pavilion to...checks notes...the plight of the Palestinian people...
Was just checking out the Uber app and noticed it's cheaper to book train tickets in there than it is through the Scotrail app. Not sure if it's an introductory price to grab business, but might be worth it for anyone trying to save a few pounds for now
Hi just to start off I'm not from aberdeen I'm from a village nearby and it's a long bus ride but in a city there is more stuff to do and I don't mind so anyways, I am 16 and im in full time education, I haven't had friends in a good few years now, most people I meet tell me oh what why you're so cool at first and later they end up ghosting me or blocking me, I have autism so that may be something to do with it? I've tried all sorts of ways to try meet people, all sorts of apps discords, going out and talking to people but I don't think i understand making friends at a base level, what are some places like clubs or one off events (like dnd or a comic con or something) where i can meet people (pref my age but can be older) once i find places to go then i can worry about actually making good imrpessions and how to interact

I am an international grad student, and it has been really difficult for me to find a job. I have applied everywhere and got nothing but rejection emails. It's funny that I worked in a clinical trial back home, and now I am being rejected from every single place. I have tried making fake cvs, went to a few places and dropped my cv, yet no luck. This is affecting my studies, my sleep and my general mental health. I heard that it's difficult to find a job in Aberdeen but I didn't expect it to be this difficult. I wonder if I am doing something wrong in my cvs.
Quick question: do they have a cloakroom?
Answer: yes it does
Hey everyone!
I’m in the process of ranking locations for GP training, and I’m seriously considering putting Aberdeen at the top of my list. My husband is a petroleum engineer, so it feels like it could be a good spot for his career too. I’ve heard Aberdeen has a strong oil industry presence, which is partly why it’s on my radar.
That said, I can’t help but feel a bit hesitant based on the photos I’ve seen – it all looks a bit grey and, dare I say, gloomy. I’m wondering if anyone here can share some insights into what it’s like to actually live there?
Is it as grey as it seems, or are there aspects of Aberdeen that make up for it? Any tips on nice areas to live, things to do, or the general vibe of the city would be amazing. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice you can share!
Hi folks, looking to get some silver jewelry for my extended family outside the UK as gifts when I visit them later this year. Any recommendations on shops that are good VFM and not overpriced? Online stores also work if reliable. Thank you in advance.
Saw the old trade building all lit up tonight on my run, don't think I've seen it like this before. Either way it looks great, hopefully it finds a new use.
Hiya, I’ll be moving and doing my postgrad in Aberdeen soon.
Thank you!
