This is a subreddit dedicated to images, videos and general discussion of Abandoned Asylums and Psychiatric Hospitals throughout the world.
As long as it's related to an Abandoned Asylum and/or a Psychiatric Hospital then it's allowed here. For the sake of clarity, "abandoned" means no longer used. If the Asylum and/or a Psychiatric Hospital is still open to patients then it isn't "abandoned".
This isn't a horror/scare sub but we appreciate there's a certain element of eeriness about Abandoned Asylums and Psychiatric Hospitals, saying that, please don't post any obviously fake "spooky" pictures/videos.

This is probably a shot in the dark but it’s driving me crazy so I have to try.
A couple years before 2015 I’d just heard about Pennhurst and naturally fell down the rabbit hole researching it. I came across an account from a resident who talked about being given ‘allowance’ to spend at the general store, and how they heard screams from residents in the tunnels, and when residents went into a certain building they never came out. I also vaguely remember something about residents being set on fire.
Does anyone know what I’m talking about? I’ve been scouring the internet for the last few hours but all I can’t find it.
I Explored a part of the Century Manor Asylum in Hamilton Ontario. I got into a smaller part of the asylum that used to be connected before they took down parts of the building. I am going back soon to explore the main part with the patient's rooms and staff areas. I will post the video on my channel soon. I would really appreciate if you subscribed if you enjoy watching abandoned exploration videos.
So me and some friends are going to old bryce in tuscaloosa AL and i was wondering what to expect there, or directions if we have to go off the beaten path, as well as security and stuff like that
Hey I live near los angeles so I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out. Me and some friends want a place to explore you know abandoned and gives you the creeps. I'm searching online but either can't find that location or they were renovated and fixed up. Please I'm hoping someone will be able to help out. Thanks!!
