Ok so I'm looking for an Episode i think it was a halloween one. The nerd is talking about creepy stuff I think. And then he mentions the dark being terrifying without warning the lights go out and all you can see is his eyes in the dark and ever since I first saw that it scared the ever living shit outta me but I don't know it I imagined it or if it's a real episode
Lmao.
At the end of his Charlie's Angels review, he was asked to check out the PS2 European release. There was a brief pause before he ultimately destroyed it.
What was so bad about the PS2 European version? Was this just a joke about having to just reply the game on a different console? Or, is there something about this version of the game that made it worse? I can't find anything online to suggest something's different about this specific version.
Looking for an episode where the nerd says “you smell that?… it smells like shit” or something like that before he looks at the screen.
Im writing an avgn story where james goes into the future to defeat the worst game ever made.
In terms of overall absurdity? For me its Texas Chainsaw Massacre off Season 2. Has such an arthouse feel I love it lol
Sure! Here’s the crossover story between "Splatoon" and "The Angry Video Game Nerd" featuring Alastor, translated into English:
Title: "The Angry Video Game Nerd x Splatoon"
Opening Scene: The video starts with the Nerd in his usual messy room, surrounded by old games. He’s playing "Splatoon" and clearly frustrated. Suddenly, the screen flickers, and he’s pulled inside the game.
Transition to Inkopolis: The Nerd appears in Inkopolis, surrounded by Inklings and Octolings, all looking at him with confusion. He looks around, surprised.
“Wait a second! I’m not on my couch! What’s happening? I’m… inside a paint game?”
Interaction with Characters: The Inklings approach him, trying to explain the game’s objective. The Nerd is more concerned about critiquing the mechanics.
“So you’re telling me I have to cover everything with paint? This is like a childhood dream! But who needs a game where the goal is to paint the floor? Where are the real weapons? Where's the action? Where's the violence?!”
Challenges in the Game: As he tries to play, the Inklings attempt to help him understand the mechanics. The Nerd gets increasingly frustrated with the online battles and respawn system.
“Why do I always spawn in the same spot? This is like a nightmare! It’s like I’m stuck in an endless loop of ink! And don’t get me started on the weapons! Why am I using a paint gun instead of a bazooka?”
Comic Moment: The characters try to convince him to participate in a Turf War tournament. He hesitates but ultimately agrees. During the battle, he makes sarcastic comments about every weapon and ability he sees.
“Look at this weapon! It’s a paint shotgun? How creative! What’s next? A glitter machine gun?!”
Conflict with Alastor: In the midst of the battle, Alastor (from Hazbin Hotel) appears as an unexpected boss. He starts taunting the Nerd.
“Oh, if it isn’t the famous Angry Video Game Nerd! Ready to be defeated by paint squids?”
The Nerd responds with his classic rage:
“You may be a powerful demon, but I’ve faced far worse games than you!”
Climax of Battle: The battle intensifies as the Nerd tries to use absurd strategies while the Inklings try to help him. He ends up creating a new technique called “explosive ink,” where he throws ink everywhere while yelling.
“In the end, this is just one big colorful mess! But at least it’s a fun mess!”
Conclusion: After defeating Alastor (with help from the Inklings), the Nerd finally says goodbye and returns to his world. He appears back in his usual setting.
“Well, that was… different. ‘Splatoon’ is like a rainbow exploding in your face while you try to understand what’s going on! However, despite all the mess and frustration, I have to admit… it’s fun.”
He ends with his classic line:
“And remember… never underestimate the power of ink! Or squids!”
I hope you like this version of the story! Let me know if there are any other adjustments or ideas you want to explore!
On another note, why did he start using an 8 bit remix of the song anyways? Stylistic choice?
It was an episode from somewhere around the last 2 years. There's a brief part where the vid samples a really catchy 8 bit composition. I can't recall if it was a chiptune or track from an NES or C64 game (or maybe unreleased tune) by a composer. It should be available on youtube to listen to, and I recall at least a few of the comments were ones recent to the AVGN episode release saying the episode brought them there. I just don't know the title.
What’s that one moment in an AVGN episode that made you go “shit got real”. For me, it was probably “The power of super mecha death Christ compels you motherfucker!”
Should I get this
Anyone seen the out of nowhere hate on Twitter James has been getting? It started with a old movie review now it’s out of control.
So many of them must have seen the nerds videos, I wish I could hear their side of the story.
Maybe there are some valid explanations for why the games suck ASSSSSSS and I'd like to hear them.
I remember an episode that I think was a Batman or Batman related episode? I swear that when Batman was hit by an enemy he let out a sigh like “uuuuh.” The Nerd then says: “what? Is he letting out a nice crap?”
For some reason I can’t find this, it could have been a dream or mis-memory.
