What to make?🤔
Hi everyone. I am pretty new to vaping and while I love edibles have never successfully made my own, so bear with me for stupid questions.
I'm a bit limited in the edibles I can make as I am currently living with parents who would not approve of me cooking it, and I don't get a ton of time where they're both out of the house. I have some cookie dough I picked up (specifically Aunty Kath's if that matters lol) and I was wondering if I could mix in AVB with that to have some kind of success? It's the kind of premix where I just need to cut the log into separate cookie-sized pieces, would it be worth adding anything extra to the recipe to help bind the THC or do anything else?
Any sort of insight would be appreciated, even if it's just to say dumb idea. I have had a look at the recipe masterpost and seen a couple that I want to try, but I couldn't find anything about using this kind of premix specifically. Thank you!
Started around May, and have smoked and vaped every day since getting a vaporizer.
Cleaned my vape mouthpiece/components today, boiled in milk and then washed in super hot water and rinsed. Made a milky coffee with the milk around 1pm today, just starting to wear off now at 20.45. Happy Monday ☮️
To give a bit of back story: I have a dry herb vape and I wanted to have a relaxing night in, but I ran out of bud. So I thought to eat some AVB instead. Only problem is that I just ate 2 TABLESPOONS instead of 2 teaspoons. I know this is so stupid but I can't change anything about that now...
I have to add that I usually vape my bud at 200C/392F, so not a lot of thc is left but still I consumed probably way too much. Any advice on what to do for the next hours when it's gonna kick in? I ate it about 15 mins ago. I don't know what to expect.
I’ve used my mighty for scale as I really can’t be bothered to weigh it right now 😂 Im a complete noob with AVB. Was using a teaspoon or 2 of it raw when i ran out of my oil prescription but that really messed with my stomach. Did put some in hot chocolates and that had a similar effect on my insides. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
So today I was making cannabis oil out of my avb and slow cooker but when I opened the lid I noticed quite a lot of oil had leaked into the water bath (I still recovered a decent amount from the jar) but is there any way to recover the spilled oil since oil doesn’t mix with water or should I just cut my loss?
Cheers!
So I have 13g of avb ready to go but I have some questions (yes I could find some online but I like having conversation where I can ask more questions and get personal experiences on things) so my questions are
(1) If I cook it in the air fryer out the back door will the air fryer smell like weed next time I cook food in the house ?
(2) would 13g be enough for a small cake or maybe 4 cupcakes with 3g in each ? (I can cut up the cupcakes so I’m eating a half or a quarter at a time)
(3) can I just put the avb in the cake batter as is? I don’t need to make canna butter do I ?
(4) any other tips for my first time would be appreciated
Hi all,
Been awhile since I cooked with AVB. Quick question, is there an optimal max amount of AVB ratio to oil? As in, would too much AVB to too little oil be redundant (not make it much stronger)?
I was also worried my AVB batch won’t be as strong as I’d like and I was gonna say fuck it and decarb some fresh bud in the mix as well, and of course water cure the AVB. But I will have probably ~200g AVB to 500ml or 1000ml of MCT oil.
Any advice is appreciated Thank you :)
Like the title says; I was having a sesh, accidentally combusted, walked away and forgot about said combustion, then proceeded to empty it right into my AVB stash.
Is the flavor/preparation of AVB butter or other methods ruined because of this? It's already pretty mixed in, so I don't think I can fish it all out. Thanks in advance for any help!
had great cbd seshes this week, here's what I have so far, will add more and then do raw eating
Smoking only every few weekend and reading about people eating a teaspoon or more of AVB. For me this is the AVB of a month of smoking or two. Surely its already partly extracted but i think a full spoon may be too much? Especially since ist so dry it crumbles to dust reducing its size by so much. Do you talk about spons with a big mountain or just what fits in the bowl?
Hey everyone! This isn’t exactly a recipe, but a quick way to make an AVB edible with minimal effort.
What You'll Need:
A slice of bread High-fat chocolate spread (like Nutella or something similar) AVB (Already Vaped Bud) Steps:
Spread the Chocolate: Take your slice of bread and apply a thick layer of chocolate spread. The fat in the chocolate will help absorb the AVB and mask its flavor. Add the AVB: Sprinkle a 3-4mm layer of AVB over the entire slice. This amount should cover the bread without piling up too much. Top with More Chocolate (Optional): If the AVB taste isn’t your favorite, add another layer of chocolate spread over the AVB. This second layer will hide the taste even more. Dosing:
I typically use about three packed rounds from my Crafty+ vaporizer to make one strong edible. Adjust to your tolerance and desired strength!
So I've been doing some experimenting lately searching for the fastest and easiest way to prepare and consume small quantities of AVB without having those horrible bitter flavours. My thinking has lead me to taking some AVB and putting it in a tea strainer before running some boiling water through it - around 500ml (one eighth of a gallon for you imperialists).
The results have been great. First attempt was two teaspoons then blanched with cold water before being added to a smoothie. Was a chill day, zero weed flavour.
Today I had four teaspoons and went and saw the new venom film. I let the shake sit for a while before consuming and there was definitely a moderate cannabis flavour to it, but no different to the flavour of fresh herb. With regards to the effects I was most definitely feeling it.
I am aware that the boiling water is highly likely to be knocking a lot of loose partially vaporised trichomes off the material, but as someone who has a high tolerance to edibles, the effects today were comparable to if I had just straight dry scooped an equivalent amount. Infinitely more pleasant though.
So yeah, if you just want to use a small amount of AVB and CBF processing it all and doing multiple steps this was a method I found great for being able to have decent tasting avb in just a few minutes with minimal cleanup required.
TL;DR: For a super quick water cure of small quantities put your AVB in a tea strainer and slowly pour boiling water over the vaped material until the water is running reasonably clear and no longer stinks.
Mush love ✌️
Edit: I will never understand how in these communities when you share something new and personally helpful, that the hordes of negative Nancy's will come and throw downvotes around. If this info helps even one person enjoy their AVB more than that is a huge win for me, but downvotes stop the information reaching the target audience.
I’m a daily dynavap user and so I put a solid few grams of avb in my yogurt and haven’t felt anything 9 hrs later. Any ideas on if I should take more or wait it out?
It's around a gram, probably less that that(couldn't measure it properly)
It’s probably useless because the Avb pretty dark but any advice would be great. Ty
Just the title really, why is it that you all seem to use coconut oil for avb? Does it have some specific capabilities I am unaware of, or is it just a cultural thing?
Edit: am I missing something here? Why are people downvoting my post? It is literally just a question. I have nothing for or against the use of coconut, just wondering why it is seemingly the default.
Edit2: Thanks for all the response, I have started going deep into this rabbit hole, and plan on making a new post about this with my findings later. First I would just like to make a short summary of the arguments made here, and also add something that people seemed to have missed. I am not for or against the use of coconut oil, I am simply trying to understand and question it. I have a background in base sciences, and have been thought to question everything. I do not mean to discredit your information, I simply want to know where it comes from. Now to the reasons why people use it:
Health benefits: Some people claim it is healthier than other fats. This is difficult to prove/disprove, and I am personally not interested. If you are, good for you, and do what you think is best.
Versatility/Availability: This is extremely subjective, as how you use fats in cooking, and what is easiest for you is personal. Some people like the fact that it is solid at room temperature and therefore nice in cookies/brownies etc. It also seems coconut is widely available in USA, making me understand better why it is so common (it is available where I live (Denmark), but not nearly as readily available as other fats like butter, neutral oils or evoo).
Extraction: This it where it becomes interesting for me. A lot of people claim saturated fats are better for extraction, and this has been the case for many, many years. The oldest reference to this that I have found is in the book Cooking with Cannabis, by Adam Gottlieb from 1993. It is also referenced in "The Official High Times Cannabis Cookbook" from 2012. In both of these cases, it is only reported on as anecdotal evidence from cannabis cooks, which is only suggestive, and not definitive. Things change a bit with this article from 2016 tho. It seems to be the first real test done on the subject from my findings. The authors themself admit that this is still not conclusive, and needs further research, which they planned to do, but I can not find it anywhere. They have some contradicting results, but the conclusion is that butter, followed by coconut oil gave the best results, again hinting at saturated fats beeing the best. However, one of the labs' results said olive oil was the best. Interesting, because EVOO is high in saturated fats compared to other vegetable oils. I also found this from 2022, which references the high times article and this one from Tcheck (who sells testing equipment) as their sources on this. That last article ranks butter on top, followed by MCT and Coconut, but gives no further sources. This has been the case with most of these articles, they all come back to that same high times article. I have reached out to a few to get further answers and sources to dig deeper. I am waiting for responses before I will write a new post with my findings.
Hey guys, I am just curious what people are doing for AVB coconut oil ratios.
I have accumulated 86 grams of AVB and am looking to make some coconut oil!
Can I heat weed in my vape, just for decarbing? Like without smoking it, so it stays potent.
How long and at what degrees?
What’s the best vaporizer on the market or other ones you guys would Recommended
