I'm just wondering if we'll be in a Position where we get another 2006 Midterms and 2008 Election. I think we just got 2004 with Bush/Trump winning against Kerry/Harris going more Right and losing. But what's your opinion?
Maybe AOC can play the Obama in 2028, but who knows?
And if there is, how can I be a part of it? I feel like I have skills that I can offer, but wondering how one could even get plugged into an opportunity to help?
I met INCREDIBLY inspiring people last night. People with hearts, people who care*.* I thought they were going to be typical Corporate democrats but these were people who know suffering. The first two women I met started the committee only in 2016. They were older women who were so freaked out about Trump they felt they had to do something. They had loved ones who were in danger of being hurt if he got his way. Another lady was canvassing BY HERSELF 12 hours before polls closed. Me and my sister asked her how she could do it because we're both socially anxious and she told us she found courage in the same place that propelled us to come to this committee night. An older man gave me a pocket Constitution and told me how him and his niece made a Kamala brat sign, another man whose a lawyer encouraged me to run myself. Another woman taught me how much local politics affect our lives so much more than the federal. These were people from all sorts of walks of life and idk there's just something about touching grass with my local community that got me fired up even MORE. I felt much more empowered, much more capable of making change. All that hopelessness I felt when Trump got elected disappated. One lady told me her town had a +7 Republican lean and over the years they kept working and now its at a +1. All it took was listening to people, going door to door. My local town council lady was a Republican that won her seat because NOBODY OPPOSED HER! I have learned so much about people's lives, their journeys, their own efforts to run for office.
AOC is right. This is going to be WORK. Just like they planned Project 2025 for years, so will we. I write all this to encourage all of you to go to your local political commitee and just meet the people. I am currently going through Bernie Sander's book "Our Revolution" and just finished the chapter regarding his time as a Mayor. I am shocked how much you can get done such a local level. I now understand why AOC told us back when she first got elected (and when people were asking her what to do because they were frustrated with Nancy Pelosi being such a cockblock to her) that we need to get this movement going at the local level. Local levels actually do have INCREDIBLE power. The resistance to this white racist Christian extremist regime begins there.

Hello friends,
Cuba is in crisis. It's time for Biden to #SendAndEnd!
The island has been hit by two hurricanes, major earthquakes, and an energy shortage— a climate and humanitarian crisis all compounded by Trump-era sanctions and Cuba's designation on the State Sponsors of Terror list that blocks access to essential resources like trade, remittances, and financial support. Millions are suffering. U.S. sanctions are worsening Cuba’s hardship, cutting off critical resources needed for recovery and resilience. With Trump set to return to office in 2025, there is a limited window for President Biden to act before these policies become even more entrenched.
Use this tool to urge President Biden and Congress to Send humanitarian aid to Cuba and End restrictive sanctionsSend humanitarian aid to Cuba and End restrictive sanctions. Together, we can support the Cuban people in rebuilding and strengthening their future.
Take Action:
It hit me after talking with a good friend of mine the other day who didn't vote for either of the candidates. Not did he vote third party. He just left it blank. Lucky for him he still lives in solid blue Colorado. He mentioned a couple of times about how he wished he could have voted for Cortez. We are both father's in our 50s and doing ok financially. We both wNt what is good for everyone.
Since then I've been looking more into Cortez and he is completely right. Asking her constituents why they voted for her and Trump was the clincher for me. We do need to run someone who is young, can confidently talk to a wide audience and is a intelligent fighter.
If she wants to run for president in 2028. I'll go door to door for her in a heartbeat!
P.S. To everyone who says a woman can't win in the US,maybe so. But remember this.
Women fought long and hard to gain the right to be equal citizens and have the rights to vote,.own land etc. They never gave up until they won,.though there is more to go.
We won't give up either!
Everyone should read this 2012 Harper's article, How to Rig an Election.
https://harpers.org/archive/2012/11/how-to-rig-an-election/
"Tracing the sea changes in our electoral process, we see that two major events have paved the way for this lethal form of election manipulation: the mass adoption of computerized voting technology, and the outsourcing of our elections to a handful of corporations that operate in the shadows, with little oversight or accountability.
This privatization of our elections has occurred without public knowledge or consent, leading to one of the most dangerous and least understood crises in the history of American democracy. We have actually lost the ability to verify election results...
Old-school ballot-box fraud at its most egregious was localized and limited in scope. But new electronic voting systems allow insiders to rig elections on a statewide or even national scale. And whereas once you could catch the guilty parties in the act, and even dredge the ballot boxes out of the bayou, the virtual vote count can be manipulated in total secrecy. By means of proprietary, corporate-owned software, just one programmer could steal hundreds, thousands, potentially even millions of votes with the stroke of a key. It’s the electoral equivalent of a drone strike..."
Given that Trump, Musk, Putin, and the GOP all have the incentives and resources to turn American elections into Russian "elections", I don't think doing hand recounts in the counties with bomb threats like Spoonamore's Duty to Warn letter says are an unreasonable check.
There's no point in believing anything without evidence, but it would be foolish not to have every election be verifiable by the public given the stakes, incentives, unfathomable resources, history, and criminal character of the people involved.

Technically this is Bernie's Op-Ed, but I thought it was worth posting here because it gives a summary of a platform that AOC will also likely be supporting:
