A fan-made subreddit dedicated to Ann Arbor's very own minor league soccer team, AFC Ann Arbor.
Association Football Club Ann Arbor was founded in 2014 and played its first season in the summer of 2015 in the Great Lakes Premier League. The league was created by the founders of both AFCAA and GRFC after both clubs were denied access into the National Premier Soccer League, the 4th tier of professional soccer in the United States. After a very successful inaugeral season, AFC Ann Arbor was accepted into the NPSL's Midwest Region for the 2016 season. The team plays at Pioneer High School's Holloway field, located across the street from Michigan Stadium.

I went to look through it and the shop says it’s currently unavailable. Any idea what’s up with that?
Final score was 0-0, with AFC Cleveland winning in penalties, 4-2. Tough game to stomach, Ann Arbor seemed to score on three separate occasions, each one being either not allowed or overturned due to offside. I'm obviously biased, but all I'll say is that I've never seen a goal disallowed over a minute after it was scored, at any professional level.
Regardless of the result today, this was a solid season for the team. Qualifying for playoffs in their first year in a very competitive division was quite the accomplishment, hopefully one to build on in sight of next year.

Like to see that Coach Rutland has stepped up our recruiting game and brought in players from Cuba and England. We needed to upgrade our roster to meet the NPSL challenge and on paper, I think we've done that. Getting really excited.
Hello everyone, welcome to a subreddit dedicated to Ann Arbor's newest soccer team AFC Ann Arbor. I can't imagine this team has that large of a following, especially online, but I took it upon myself to create a place where fans of the Mighty Oak can talk freely about various comings and goings about the team.
In terms of submitting content, I'm not exactly sure how much "press" there will be surrounding AFC Ann Arbor, especially during the offseason, but feel free to submit any content about the team or league (NPSL). Text submissions are also accepted, of course, and are good ways to ask questions and/or spark up discussions with fellow members of the subreddit. I reserve the right to remove any post that I or others deem inappropriate/irrelevant, but I'm not expecting to encounter many of those occasions.
The sidebar includes the team's website, wikipedia page, and the official website of the NPSL. I am always open to suggestions on other things to include there.
Lastly, I created this subreddit not only to create a place for AFC Ann Arbor fans to congregate, but also as a new challenge for myself. I am not too "tech savy" and I'm very new to the moderating game (going on six days now, hold your applause). I'm saying this because there's a lot that I don't know about how to adequately run a subreddit. If you come up with something that you think could improve the subreddit for everyone, please let me know either in a private message or even a text post. Every bit of help is greatly appreciated.
Welcome, and Strength in the Oak.
