Had rack and pinion replaced probably a month ago. First few times I’ve been using 4wd for some snow since then. Notice a bright green liquid dripping from my front diff today. (Have had my skid plate off since the replacement so I would’ve seen the leak had it started earlier)
I look above the diff to find this piece of tube not connected. They are hard lines and I can’t re-connect them either one hand and no space. What is this? I can’t find any green liquid that I’ve used.
Anyone know or have the part number for the drip channel. Can’t seem to find the right part in my online search. TIA
Greetings,
I'm asking around the forums and groups for some advice that I'm hoping to get some input on. I just purchased 2013 with 100k on it and I've had all fluids changed out except the transmission fluid.
Tbh I'm nervous about doing it. I was recommend to do a fluid flush service with Vavoline MaxLife. However, I've read that people swear by the OEM Toyota WS fluid with drain and fill method only. Toyota dealer quoted me the same price for the drain and fill as the flush.
My question is, since I have no clue when the 4R transmission was last changed or what fluid was used, should l let Toyota do the drain and fill? Or should get the indy shop to start fresh and replace all fluids?
I have a 2014 sr5 4x4 with 160k miles and am in need on new suspension. I don’t want to just replace with oem.
I’m looking for help to find a good kit that’ll stop the nose dive and help it not feel like a boat when driving.
Right now I have 285/70/17 tires with stock struts and a puck leveling kit. I occasionally offroad but nothing crazy so I’m not worried about the offroad capabilities. I just want a smooth ride and enough lift to still fit these tires.
I have looked and cannot find the setting in the menu. Does anyone know if it exists?
I guess I will have to download a mileage app?
I have a 2022 Limited if that helps.
On my 2014 Trail, i have 17x10.50 rims Would i be able to fit 17x12.50s? and also if anyone knows would i fit 33s on a 3 inch level? and if i can’t, can i on a 3 inch lift with a 2 inch level stacked? i’d rather see if i can fit on a 3 inch level obviously but whatever i have to do for 33s
2020 4Runner here. I was wondering if it messes with the cruise control sensor? And does anyone have a good link for some good ones. I don’t want a winch style, I don’t need it. But open to all others.
I can’t find many reviews at all on Reddit or the Internet on Bilstein UVA’s?
I have a 2016 TRD Pro and the shocks have been leaking for 30,000 miles now… such a pain in the ass that you can’t just replace the shocks but if I go with the same Bilstein 6112/5160 again they will have the lifetime warranty. Plus I can lift the front a little higher so the next time around, I will put 285s on.
Checking in with different shops on their opinions concerning 99% highway driving and wanting long-term reliability with less maintenance - for upper control arms a few shops suggested the Bilsteins…
I don’t wanna deal with noise or a constant tinkering… but they’re simply are not many 4runner reviews for Bilstein UCA??
I accidentally ripped the wires out of the cam sensor (bank 2B drivers side) and I don’t know which color goes where. If somebody could send a picture for reference I’d appreciate it. It’s the one between the 4 and 6 coil under the smog pump
2012 with ~130k miles. Noise happens over bumps. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hey y’all. Curious what yall think about these LCA bushings. I have some substantial bump steer over uneven surfaces. And noticed that the metal edges are warped as if they were hitting the mounting point (worn bushing allowing lateral movement?). Both LCAs look like the videos on both bushings.
I’m about to do a Bilstein 5100 lift so wondering if LCAs need to be done with it.
The other day I was parking my white 4runner and as I was pulling in a spot there was another white one pulling out. The guy drove up behind me and just stopped. I watched him and gave him like 10 seconds. Thought maybe he was just reading my stickers and whatnot but he waited til I poked my head out and just shouted “Hey nice 4runner!” And I said “thanks, love yours too!” And it was really cool and brightened my otherwise shitty day. It was in Brockport, NY by the Wegmans…so if you happen to be on here, thanks man!! ☺️ Picture just to show my Storm Trooper off!
Help please!
just a FYI to be alert for 5th gen owners, something out there can be used to unlock your doors.. https://www.reddit.com/r/hackrf/comments/1i7kt7u/help_me_identify_the_device_used_to_break_into_my/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Recently I was traveling with 5 gallon water jugs in my 2022 SR5 w/3rd row option. I came to a stop and two of them fell over and leaked a ton of water near the back seat area. I noticed water spotting in the carpet behind the driver and passenger seat. Every time you push on the carpet more water would come up. I am starting to notice a smell. So, I wanted to ask if anyone knew of any drain plugs for situations like this? I have looked on YouTube and can’t find anything related. Are there drain plugs or do I need to take out seats and raise the carpet? Thank you
I’m having an easily repeatable “thud thud” that I can both hear and feel through the pedal when braking.
Important to note. I am dead stopped and in park when recording this video, but the car does this both stationary and moving, so I know it’s not bushings/control arms/warped rotors.
EDIT: There is also a slight mechanical buzzing noise that can faintly be heard. Video wont hurt your ears!
I’m looking to buy a 4Runner soon! I want to get a 2024 because I love the underground color so much. I would be fine with an SR5 4wd but also would love a trd off-road. What would be a good price for these if I could get them brand new (price for each) or for lower mileage (5k-20k) for each?
I have a 2015 limited and I found a great deal on some used nfab side steps in great condition. I was all excited and got home and looked up some videos so I can swap them this weekend. From what I’m seeing is that I’ll have to trim my kicker panels and what I didn’t know is that I need to remove my XREAS? I was planning on upgrading my suspension this summer but can I really not install these until I get rid of the existing XREAS? Thanks in advance!
Got an oil change, and tire rotation. At least I think I did. I've had my rear pass tire low by 1 to 2 lbs the last few weeks. Got my car back and it said the tire was still low. Service guy swears the rotation happened. Anything else I can look into? Why the indicator still says it's low? It's intermittent also, so I wouldn't think it needs to be reset. It's a '20 limited.
Cars and Bids has a nice 2015 SR5 with a lot of mods from Texas in their auction. Take a look and while you are looking check out a 2000 4 runner that sold at auction for $26,500 on Dec 11,2024.
Hello,
I have a 2022 limited. Just curious as to why some buttons like the mirror controls and overall dimmer are not backlit? Is this by design or a bad fuse?
For comparison, every button in my 2017 Kia Sorento is backlit and it just seems to make more sense and looks more uniform.
Thanks!
Looking at upgrading the roof rack that I have on my SR5. What are some good full racks and why? I plan on upgrading the front and rear bumpers, possibly putting a ladder on the back as well.
Hey guys just had a question, I just got for Christmas new turn signal lights for my side mirrors to black them out, but as I took off the mirrors I learned when I went to put them back on I snapped the 2 of the little black clips that keep your mirror to to turning white thing for adjustment. I couldn’t find any help on fixing the clips so I just went ahead and ordered 2 replacement glass for them off eBay, and am unsure how to hook them back up? I have blind spot monitoring and the defrosters on my side mirrors and haven’t been able to find any vids on how to re connect those back up to the new glass. Sorry for the paragraph tried to explain everything the best I can! Thanks in advance
