Pros & cons of both? Or mix of both? I’m attempting to make a decision by Black Friday.
I was on a major budget and needed a decent rack for mounting a RTT and other things. Through my research I found that this rack (https://amzn.to/3NROsgx) was the best cheapest option available on Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised with it.

i just got my first 4runner and im thinking about switching to led headlights but dont want to spend $1000 on new ones what should i get?
I wouldn't consider myself very mechanically inclined, but I'd say that something like a HID bulb and ballast install is pretty idiot-proof. I just bought two H11 xenon bulbs and ballasts and installed them today in my 2016 SR5. It already had a similar setup with the exact same connections, so it was a straight forward plug and play (or so I thought). After the install, neither headlight works. I double checked the connections as well as the fuses and all seems good. What am I missing?
Had 3 4Runners I was looking at. Son is a mechanic and looked at all. I bought the one he said was in the best shape. It has 285/70R17s on it. And this lift kit. https://www.4runnerlifestyle.com/products/torq-3-1-leveling-lift-kit-for-4runner
I don't know much about lift kits. Am I correct in thinking this is a body lift kit and doesn't do much in terms of adding ground clearance? The ties will need replacing in a year or so, I’m considering if this is just a body lift of having it removed, then putting on 265/70R17s with K02s and removing the lift kit.
Suggestions?
I just purchased a 2012 4runner with 78,000 miles on it. Motor is very clean. Looks like you could eat off of it it’s so clean, but sometimes it is not starting right away. It starts and runs fine, but hesitates to start sometimes. just wanted to see if anybody had some direction like fuel pump etc. I haven’t owned a 4runner before
I want to swap my stock 20inch wheels on a stock 4Runner limited for 17inch wheels. Any recommendations on offset, width, and all terrain tire size to wrap them in?
I chose the name Dwight for my 4Runner 😂
I was informed this is the inner tie rod that is leaking grease? Does that mean it’s time to replace it?
Im only getting about 15k-20k miles out of KYB upper strut mounts. The top rubber insulator ends up pushing itself out. 2011 4runner SR5. OME 885x springs, 5100's (set at 0), Shrockworks front bumper and sliders. Anyone try urethane or other brands like Mevotech?
Hey everyone, I have a 5th gen 4runner SR5 and noticed one day out of the blue the steering wheel controls do not work. I was thinking it could be a fuse but now I am not sure. What should I do?
Now to get rid of the chrome 🎉
I’ve been looking for a steel push bar, maybe with a winch option. However they all seem to be ones where you have to cut the nose or fenders. Or they have bull bars that block the TSS sensor. Have you guys run across any options that don’t require major surgery to the truck? Thank you for any advice or links in advance.
Is there any good recommendations on a more comfortable seat upgrade? I’ve got a 2013 trail edition
Just purchased my first 4 runner, 2015 XP trim. Noticed that when on an incline in drive, the vehicle still wants to roll back almost freely. If it rolls back slightly and I press the gas it starts to make a clicking sound and pulls off. Is this normal for the 4 runner platform?
I love my 2023 4Runner Premium, my only issue is the darn app! It’s useless if you decide to not give toyota and all their friends permission to know all of your moves. I’m sure they can still trace without permission but I hate that they’re so decisive. Either we say yes to tracking location always or it’s a no to it all, making the app absolutely useless. At least it holds your VIN number, but you can’t even see your mileage or tire gauge. It’s Ridiculous!!! Who else has issues with this or am I just nuts? 🤦🏻♀️
I am wanting to change out my wheels, but keep getting conflicting info. I'm torn between the Method 703 17x8.5 +0 and the 17x9 -12. Tires will be a 285/70/17 with the Westcott spacer lift. These will be on a 2018 trd pro. Should I expect to rub and will both of these fit?
I'm a bit stumped, saw a small leak under my 17' today and crawled under. There is an "L" shaped overflow drain coming out of the passenger side firewall that seems to have dripped clear fluid, it isn't water, it's got an oily nature to it and smell, but it definitely isn't engine oil.
Any insight? It dumps right above the right frame rail and sits directly behind this liner.
Happy owner of this Runner...this happened on 2 occasions. While rolling out of the parking lot, the gauge cluster lights and display would restart. (as if I was starting the 4Runner) the car doesnt powerdown. Any ideas of what the issue could be? Not sure if im explaining it correctly. Not a car Guru. :(
I've been looking at TRD Pro Premiums, most don't have KDSS, some do. Is KDSS more problematic? I don't plan on doing any heavy duty off roading. Thanks!
