Have an 06 V8 4Runner. Was purchased with these fault lights on, dealer stated it was a bad yaw sensor. Just replaced the sensor with a brand new one and the lights are still on. ABS and traction control do indeed not work. Any ideas on what do look at next?
Have the opportunity to buy the following 4th gen:
Frame appears in good shape with minimal surface rust, but that’s just off pictures. Haven’t conducted hammer test yet.
I’m looking at this and feeling like the price is too good to be true, as similar posts on here are being quoted at $15k+.
Thanks,
08 limited v8 here. My driver window and the rear window are auto up/down, but as of Wednesday they no longer do the auto function. They go up and down but not automatically. Any thoughts? I’m hoping this is just a fuse or something simple/cheap.
Anybody currently running 2024 Tacoma stocks? I have a 2007 Limited with stocks currently and would like to know what I’d have to do to be able to run these! Thank you
Have had my car 4runner since i graduated highschool about 5 years ago. I bought a cassette player with an AUX used an iPhone adapter. In the past week my cassette player starts making weird clicking sounds and then just ejects on its own. During this time the music seems to play at different parts of the audio system and then just stops. Anybody experienced similar situations?
Pretty much title. Thinking about ordering a couple things from the website. Says they are based out of Utah but with so many trash drop shipping websites out there these days I’m always hesitant when spending a good amount of money.
Any feedback would be great. I know I’ve heard horror stories about ordering from 4runnerlifestyle so I’m hoping 4rcustoms isn’t as bad.
Hi, a probably dumb question about the mysterious (to me) inner workings of a transfer case. I'm not going to be off pavement for a while and there's no sign of snow anytime soon here so I don't want to go anywhere in 4lo, but I don't want things to seize up. Shifting between 2hi and 4hi has been working fine very smooth *knocks on wood*. Based on that can I assume that 4lo should also be working fine? It was all good last time I used it. Alternatively, can I just sit in neutral and switch in and out of 4low but not go anywhere would that still help keep things lubricated? 2006 V6 SR5. Thank you!
My '04 AP2 S2000 and '08 V8 4Runner. A match made in heaven? Without a doubt!
Hi everyone!
Just purchased a 2004 SR5 4WD. Super stoked—I’ve been wanting one for a long time! Quick question: I lifted my rear seats to load up the back and noticed a puddle of water in the little area where the bottom seat locks. Any idea what kind of leak this could be?
Have had this 06 V8 for a little over a year now. I just wish I had a garage for it :/
Just got a set of 5 for $712 and I love them. Lost exactly one MPG yet my traction in slick and loose terrain conditions has been phenomenal. I've been taking corners like a champ with these on, and I only get rubbing at full lock. Anyone else go with the Rubitreks?
Edit: After trying all “normal” tricks, something is clearly wrong. Anyone happen to know the flowchart that a competent mechanic would use to isolate the issue?
Please halp!
Yes, my “monthly” 4lo runs have been sporadic. They’d start with a clunk, and shifted hard. This time 4lo works smoothly, but won’t disengage. I’ve been forward and backward, through snow banks. Engine off and on. Center lock off and on. Key out overnight. Beeps loudly when the knob is turned away from 4lo. Tried all of this over and over.
Know this is a common problem. Wondering if I should put in a bypass kit before mine goes (2007 with 200k mi) or is the better approach if it aint broke don’t fix it?
I am in the market for a 4th with the V8 and obviously 4wd. There is one listed near me that I have my eye on at the moment. It’s a 07 with 238k on it listed for 7k from a private seller, looks like it has been taken care of. What are your guy’s thoughts on the price and what I’m getting?
Looking for some world pictures of fellow 4th gen owners who run aftermarket wheels with stock sized tires (265/65) and suspension. Ideally a 17x8 (not 8.5" or 9" width) -10ish offset wheel. I'm just not sure how it would look. I may be open to going up a tire size to a 265/70 but I'd really like to avoid trimming or doing other modifications to make them fit.
2003 v8 SR5 Codes B0101 and B1181 Just had some steering rack work done. When I got it back it is throwing these codes. Shop says they restrained steering wheel properly. I took it back and they wanted to change out the clock spring. (Steering wheel stereo controls, horn, and Cruise don't work...blinkers do) They ordered one and put it in and it and it didn't fix. They got a second one and that also didn't fix. Could it be ANYTHING else besides the clock spring?
As a side note, when we first got it back, it would immediately go into limp mode with this terrible grinding sound. I disconnected battery and it went away for a couple drives, but it happened again to my daughter on the road for a few seconds and she won't drive it until I figure it out. (No codes regarding this...) Also had rear brake pads replaced.
Any insights would be appreciated.
Hello could you help. My 2003 4 runner has a blinking odometer(still tracks miles)and none of the gages work. Thank you. Any ideas?
My 03 4Runner is throwing P0171, P0174, and P0051 at me. So the system is too lean in both banks. It's not the MAF sensor. Been doing my research and narrowing it to down to what it could be. Just wondering if anyone else has the exact same codes at me because I only see people having issues with P0171 and P0174 but not P0051.
So I bought this 4runner about 6 months ago. The previous owner did not drive it much, He drove it 5k miles a year or something. I have been living in this thing and have put about 13k miles on it so far and at least 70% them off road. Obviously I’m starting to bust open the boots on my ball joints and the control arm bushings are getting squeaky and the shitty old rough country 2” doesn’t help really at all. I’m planning on getting slightly bigger tires and keeping the 2”. What lift kits and bushings should I be looking into for long term reliability and affordability? Are there any other parts I should think about replacing or upgrading?
Hey everybody, I just had my alternator replaced and now these lights came on less than 48 hours after. Any ideas? TIA
