Suggestions for 19" Deep TV Cabinet

Finally, pulled the trigger on a 85" Bravia 7 and it arrives this Wednesday. However, finding a TV cabinet for the same is actually harder than choosing the right TV..

Unfortunately, I can't wall mount my TV coz am in a rented apartment. The legs on the B7 are 18.7" deep..

Currenty have two options:

  1. Place it on my office desk - https://www.amazon.com/Tribesigns-70-8-Inch-Executive-Workstation-Furniture/dp/B0C6DDF13J?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

But this mandates the need to buy an AV media table to place my AVR and my center channel.

  1. Fitueyes Eiffel 100T - https://fitueyes.com/products/floor-tv-stand-eiffel-series-75-100-inch

I personally prefer placing the TV on a solid cabinet, rathen than attaching to a floor/pedestal stand like the one above. And the hard part is that my budget is around $300. Can extend upto $400. But not more than that. Opted for the Free Amazon Deluxe Unpack and Setup delivery - I hope they would attach the legs and place it on a stand but they won't help me placing it on the Eiffel Floor Stand, I suppose.

Open to recommendations..

Q60D dead pixel

Hi! I got a samsung Q60D 65" thats 1 month old. I recently noticed 1 dead pixel, the company that I bought it from said I could either get 15% - 20% discount equal to €130 - €140 or send it back. The dead pixel is a like 5 cm from the edge in the corner and cannot be seen from normal viewing distance. What would you do in this case?

98in Analysis Paralysis

Getting ready for Black Friday to finally get a 98in TV. I am stuck in the analyzing phase. Comparing the entry level Hisense U76 and TCL QM7 with the next level up Sony X90L and TCL QM8.

This is going in a dark theater room on a 5.2.2 system and will be used for streaming movies from Apple 4K and a 4K Blue Ray player. No gaming, no sports.

The X90L and QM8 look slightly nicer at Best Buy side by side but I won’t wondering if the QM7 will give me what I need and save me $2k. Will I notice much of a difference playing HD Blue Rays between the different TV

What TV size should I get for my room? It’s primarily for gaming. I’m sitting at about 7 to 7.5 feet from the screen? 43 or 50 I don't want anything too bright or big that it will give me a headache?

Best 65" OLED with a budget around $1300

Hi All,

Looking for the best value on a 65" OLED for around $1300 (if less that's even better). Room will get decent natural light (but no sunlight on the TV). The TV will be paired w/ a external speakers and apple tv so the speakers / OS don't really matter. I've seen the Samsung S85D and S90C for around that price as well as the LG C4. Anything else i should be considering / does one of those make the most sense?

Thanks!

Replacing 2013 LC-60LE755U

I'm looking to replace my 2013 LC-60LE755U for a 65 inch tv. Will a sub $500 tv in 2024 be worse quality compared to what I currently have? My family and I do not have refined tv eyes and 70% of the time is streaming Netflix/Prime Video cartoons. Other 30% is generally sports. I am trying to figure out if it's worth spending an extra $250 for one of the higher recommended budget TV's (TLC or Hisense), or if for our purposes and coming from a 11 year old tv-a cheap entry level will suffice. Thanks!

77" at the foot of the bed

Anybody has a 77" at the foot of the bed? Is it ok or it's too big?

My main watching place is the bedroom, TV is at the foot od the bed (viewing distance: 2.3m/7.5ft) - currently 55" TV, but it's too small for movies. For OLED 65" or 77" are the only options. And the question is: is 77" too big for that setup? Will be used for movies and tv shows (mostly 4k) and sometimes sport in hd. Based on rtings chart it's ok for cinema distance, but not for mixed - so I'm looking if someone tried that in a real life

thanks!

Choosing the right 4k Living Room TV.

A lot of the advice on here is for more expensive OLED stuff.

What would you get if you had a £800 budget for a 65in Living room TV. Only really used for casual viewing on a 4k firestick from netflix/disney and other streaming services.

Currently on a 10 year old 43in plasma TV. So anything is an upgrade. I'd love a 65k oled, but simply can't afford/justify the cost.

Am I best just taking a punt on a cheap 65in LED TV or can I get something meaningful for my budget? UK . .

Edit: the room is moderately lit with 1 window.

Potentially looking at the tcl 745 65in. Comes in about £650, seems to have fairly good reviews on here from people who know much more about TVs than me!

Anyone tried TCL 55C745?

The general sense I got from this subreddit is that TCL C745 is the only TV recommended for those with a tight budget, but I can’t find any reviews of the TV itself?

I need a new TV for gaming, I’ve had mine for 10+ years and I barely use it. I doubt that will change even if I upgrade my TV and start gaming like I’m planning to.

That’s why I’m finding it hard to spend so much money on a TV no one seems to own or have tried out, will it really make that much of a difference in the viewing experience? And how long will TCL C745 typically last if you’re using it only every weekend or so?

Bright TVs with lowest blooming in 48-55

What are the brightest TVs with the lowest blooming with decent blacks right now in 48-55? Blooming in particular I find annoying. The TCL QM8 seems like it would be perfect because it has like 2.8k-5k local dimming zones... but the smallest size they offer is like 65 inches.

Thanks

Need help with gaming tv

My friend has a lower budget and curious if LG QNED 65" or hisense QLED mini led 65" is better, or the Samsung 65" QLED. He is mainly looking for something he's able to play his ps5 on with 120hz refresh. We're in canada, so something from the brick or Walmart would be best

Are OLED’s a no go for bright rooms with direct sunlight?

Let me preface this post with saying I’m upgrading from a Samsung UHD. It’s 4K but only supports 60hz, I am finally getting a PS5(Pro) and have a reason to upgrade to a 120hz TV.

Had my heart set on OLED. I’ve seen several people say burn in is not as big of an issue as in the past especially concerning LG. I’m also planning on purchasing through Costco due to the included extended warranty.

The more I look into pros and cons of OLED vs. QLED it seems my decision has been made for me due to the location of my living room having direct sunlight on my current TV through several windows. Does this mean I should definitely not get OLED as the sunlight will eventually cause damage? And is this something I can rely on the warranty for once I do see damage or is that going to be too much of a headache and would be better off with QLED.

With all that said what would be the best QLED for my purposes. Samsung, LG, Sony or save some money with a Hisense. Thank you very much if you read this far and for any help.

TLDR: Are OLED no good if direct sunlight hits the TV and how long would it last? Is this something warranty will cover? Which QLED is best for 4K gaming at 120hz refresh rate?

Need Suggestions for my next Television

I am looking for a 55-inch television, but I'm a bit confused between the Samsung QLED (QN90D) and the LG OLED (G4).

I've visited multiple retail stores and compared both models side-by-side using YouTube content in standard mode, as well as in specific modes like dynamic and vivid. Sometimes the OLED stands out, while other times the QLED seems to shine.

I've heard a lot about OLED and was somewhat biased toward it initially. However, when I tested similar videos on both TVs in standard mode, I was surprised to find that the colors on the OLED looked a bit faded, and my eyes were drawn to the Samsung QLED. To double-check, I visited another store, where the colors on the QLED appeared slightly pinkish in standard mode, making the OLED seem like the overall winner.

I own a PS5 and a PS3. I also watch a lot of anime, including some older series that are in 480p. I've heard that low-resolution content can look quite dull on OLED. Additionally, the PS3 outputs a maximum resolution of 1080p, though most games run at 720p.

P.S. I've heard about the potential burn-in issue with OLED, but since I've never owned one, I don’t have any experience with it.

Overall, I’d like to hear your opinion on which TV might be the best option for me.

Please help me pick between these 3, I know nothing

I will use this T.V everyday for streaming & whatnot. And playing my Ps5. I was told I should get 120hz for reaction time and stuff like that in games.

Samsung 65" Class - Q72D Series - 4K UHD QLED LCD TV - $799 120hz

Sony 65" Class - X90CL Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV - $999 120hz

Sony 65" Bravia 3 4k UHD LED - $650 60hz

Help me with the S90D 83-inch.

Could someone who has experience with this product please share their opinion on whether or not it is a worthwhile investment? I'm asking because I'm deciding between the S95D QD-OLED or the S90D 83-inch. I don't know if a bigger size is better than quality. I know that this is a recurring question, but I can't seem to find any reviews of the S90D 83-inch out there. Edit: Thanks to discounts, I can get it for £1000 less than the competition.

B4 vs Bravia 7 (65")

For a bedroom TV. No direct sunlight and the room is not terribly bright. ~60% of use will be via cable box, the rest will be via the usual streamers: Hulu, Netflix, Apple +

I've read that the B4 is considered a good "bedroom" TV but I went to see Sony and really liked it but I don't need an overly bright TV. This sub has taught me that nothing can beat the Sony for upscaling so was thinking that may be best for cable box?

For reference, we have LG C1 in the den so we're familiar with OLED but I like Android better than the LG's OS.

Prices are similar-ish. Thanks!

Tv recommendations for bedroom

Hey all! I’m looking for a tv to place in my bedroom. Here’s some details:

  • I was thinking a 55 inch
  • My bed sits close to the tv
  • I like keeping the room on the dark side since I work 24 hour shifts
  • It’s going to be used mostly for watching shows or occasional YouTube videos
  • I have a Roku and fire stick

Thank you so much in advance!

85+ inch living room TV

What are some TVs you’d recommend looking at that are around the 85 inch mark and suitable for use in a living room where there’s natural light during the day? I’ve heard OLED is best for rooms that you can make completely dark, so guessing that’s out of the question (obviously OLED at that size would be expensive as well). Is mini LED worth it (or perhaps something even better)? Ideally looking to not cross $2500 unless there’s a massive improvement (which I assume should be achievable with Black Friday sales?)

Let me know if there’s anything else to look out for. Been a while since I bought a TV. Thanks!

2017 Samsung KS800D

Stumbled across a deal for this 55” 2017 Samsung KS800D in great condition for $350. I’ve been hoping to upgrade from my 1080p Insignia from 2017.

Is this a good upgrade or should I look for a newer model? Hoping to stay around $500 which is why I’m thinking this might be a steal

Used x900f vs something new?

I’ve been looking for a sub $1k (ideally sub 700) 75” tv for a basement. No windows, won’t get used much except for movies here and there. I was looking at options on NFM and fb marketplace when I stumbled on a mint x900f with box for about 500. I know it was well rated when it came out, would it be a good option still? Or would a new tcl/hisense of sorts be better?

For reference we have 2021 TCL 5 series upstairs were used to (S535)

85 inch Tv recommendations

I have a c1 55 inch in my living room and I love my oled performance. I want to get a 85 inch sub $2000 tv. I saw some mini leds in best buy they looked close to oled performance with slightly less contract and not so rich blacks. I will be using this mostly to view movies, streaming HD content at day and night. Then kids tv.

So can you recommend some models for me which can give a close enough to oled quality but sub$2000 range for a 85? I want to go bigger in my budget but without compromising on quality.

Samsung S90C vs LG B4 65"

I'm looking for a decent 65" TV with a competent OS (since I'm tired of my Hisense TV bugging out) and I came across these two OLED options (first OLED TV). I consume a lot of TV shows and sports and this TV would be for a living room that is relatively bright during the day but no direct sunlight on the screen.

More specifically I'm comparing against the OLED65B4PUA LG B4 and the QN65S90CAFXZA Samsung S90C since they're both around the same price ($1300). Also open to any suggestions!

Looking for an ~85in tv for ~$2,000. Going to be in bright room with a wide viewing angle. Any thoughts?

I know this is asking a lot given the price range. This is for my parents living room and I’m just seeing if there’s a decent option out there for what I’m looking for. I could go up to around $2,500 but that’s pushing it a bit.

Any ideas on what’s available for that?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Purchase help - best TV (65") for around $1K?

I usually don't get expensive TVs but my partner is getting a new place and wants a nice TV for her living room. What's current best recommendation 65" for around $1K (maybe up to $1300)? In the US. I see people recommended the X90L last year. This would be wall mounted in a fairly bright living room for basic streaming/TV watching (no sports or video games). Totally lost on where to start.

48" TV recommendation for basement, for parents

My parents asked me to recommend a 48-in TV for them. It would be going in their basement so not a ton of natural light. And they don't need something crazy fancy given that they are older and not picky with stuff like that. Does it really matter with the above said or is there something someone might be able to recommend me? Thanks!
