Blew the rear differential. Now I’m rebuilding the r150f, regearing to 5.29, mounted 35x12.5r15, 3 inch body lift, crossover delete for headers, oil pump, crank and rod bearings, timing kit, eve delete, and power steering pump replacement, and upgrading stabilizer. Should’ve just stuck to one thing at a time. Fml 😅
I have a 1991 4Runner with 4x4 and a 5spd manual transmission. I’m having trouble distinguishing the difference between the W and G series transmissions and which fits my truck. In need of new syncro rings but can’t find those anywhere so might have to bite the bullet and go whole new trans. Does anyone know what’s a way I can figure out the specific model of transmission I got? Thanks
Finally back to work on the axle swap. Been a cold couple of weeks and working under my car port doesn't offer much protection from the elements.
Fought with the torsion bars for a while till I realized the rear mount just slides off and the bar slips right through the wheel well.
Once all my batteries are charged it's time to cut and grind
Already replaced speed sensor and wiring is good. Still no fix. Any advice?
Would love to know if someone has the answer. Gonna try digging into it this weekend.
does anyone know what this noise is?? it only appears when im accelerating and then goes completely away when in not pressing on the gas… i didnt mind it at first but now its kinda irritating me and want to try get rid of it
I know theese cars have a grippy step here, but mine is missing and I couldn't find one online. Does anyone know where I can find a (possibly) new one?
3.4 donor from a 98 auto for my 90 manual 4x4
My 22re 5speed after an ice fishing trip over the weekend. Am I alone in not seeing any appeal whatsoever, in owning these newer releases? Having driven a 5th gen and sat in the new Land Cruiser, it’s hard to even call these things Toyotas at this point. The new Tacoma and Tundra are a joke too! And not to mention a new Tundra is like $75k. Everything feels cheap and the driving experience is just bad. Be grateful for your old rigs. These new ones are freakin lame imo.
Am on the hunt for a genuine Rhs wind deflector. Do they even exist? I’ve got an old non genuine one of the Rhs but I’d like to have a matching set. They’re pretty rare cars in Australia, so it’s pretty hard to find genuine bits and bobs like this haha
I do have the Lhs (pictured) hence why I’m even looking
How comfortable are you guys about the safety of the 2nd gen? I know we don’t have air bags in here and crash test results aren’t great. Have you guys done anything specific to your 4Runners to make them safer?
Just picked up this 92 4door with 150k for 1600, has headers and head gaskets replaced already. Other than the running board it’s really clean no big dents
Is this a axle breather too or what is it?
Earlier this morning I came across u/NewFixer08 saying they were parting out a truck here and on a couple other subs. Some people were foaming at the mouth at the opportunity for parts not looking at the red flags:
I commented on both his posts asking why his account was so young asking for a timestamp and just like that he nuked his entire post history. Dude is a scammer.
Mods, I recommend banning that poster if he hasn’t completely deleted his account yet. Everyone else, always exercise due diligence on here.
Hey all. If anyone is familiar with this noise could you help me narrow down what exactly is wrong? From my research I’m thinking wheel bearing; it’s coming from the front end for sure and my guess is the driver’s side. It started out as a scrape/grind and it was much quieter and intermittent. Noise starts at about 30mph. Just now it got loud as hell and I checked to see if anything was interfering with the rotors, but they were clear. Checked the fluids in the front diff, transfer case, transmission, all of them were looking good. I’m guessing wheel bearing now but from what I hear bad wheel bearings sound more like a growl so I’m not sure. Any ideas help! Thanks
I switched out the igniter and coil and confirmed it's not getting a spark signal. I tried to pull up engine codes and nothing. What would cause this? A bad ecu? All my fuses look good.
Going to take her out in the morning. It’s just starting to accumulate here in the coastal plain.
Alright folks so today I got done replacing the oil cooler gaskets and O-rings and I go to start it to see if that has fixed to the oil leak but it wouldn’t crank. I had put a new battery so the culprit had to be the starter. My buddy and I busted out the good ole banging the motor with a 2x4 trick and it almost started but didn’t :( At this point I’m contemplating a new starter or a rebuild kit for the contacts, what do people think? Thanks in advance
Hello, I am having trouble looking for some front licence plate screw clips. They were old and rotted out. I can't find them.
Any suggestions? Thanks
