Is it a good deal should i trigger for samsung QN90D 55inches for USD745?
Was also considering the new Hisense U8 that looked spectacular in the store, but I've been down the Hisense road before and although my H6510G (a present from the wife) works fine with a Roku box, I'm not sure I'm ready to deal with the software issues again.
Looking for best bang for the budget under $1000 and pretty sure it's going to be some flavor of mini-led, just not sure if I want to break my budget for the Bravia vs a significantly cheaper QM7. Also not sure I'll really be able to spot many differences between the Sony and the TCL is I'm being totally honest.
We have an older TLC, our first 4k, which other than the speakers going out, has been fine. Love LG, (our first flat screen still kicking 12 years later) but they've priced us out with their beautiful oleds.
Anything I'm not looking at that I should? Have a Costco membership if that matters. Haven't seen one yet, but I'm intrigued with Panasonic re-entering the market with their W95a.
I was about to upgrade my old living room Samsung to a 65” S90D Or Sony Bravia 8. My concerns are that there’s two large windows behind the couch facing the tv. I typically only watch tv at night so not a huge deal. The other consideration is that I like to leave Spotify playing through the tv for my dog when I’m out of the house. I’m worried Spotify will result in burning with the OLED screen. The tv will really only be used for streaming shows and movies for an hour or two at the end of the day. The occasional football/hockey game and playing music (Spotify.) Am I better off going with an LED tv? Any recommendations? Any help is greatly appreciated.
So I own a cheap Walmart sceptre TV and I want to get something a little better. I’m looking at both the TCL qm7 and the Hisense u7 in 55”. Both offer 144hz (120fps) VRR, and HDR for $500 price tag. I’m mainly going to use it for gaming and I’ll be playing both ps5 and Xbox series x. Which one would you recommend? …or maybe you could recommend something else that’s $500 or less?
Am histant do I buy it or save up for a lg b4 oled for 1100$
I have the 50 Inch Samsung QN90B and it’s good with my base PS5, but I’m not sure .. do I need to upgrade it to Oled tv or QD Oled for the PS5 Pro or do i keep the qn90b?
I'm on a budget and want to buy the TCL - 55" Class Q7 for $450 but wondering if the price will drop in the upcoming weeks and if its the right time to buy. Advice appreciated
I use an AppleTV for watching tv. It does it's own uoscaling. Does that mean I don't need to worry about the TVs uoscaling cababolity?
Looking into a new television. Viewing distance about 12 feet. Room is relatively bright during the day, without direct sunlight on the TV. Used mostly for streaming TV and movies with some sports, and less video games. Hoping to spend around or under $2000 CAD.
Was thinking about the TCL for better brightness in a bright room during the day but was concerned with how much I’d be giving up when watching high quality movies or tv in the evening, or when watching sports. I know wide viewing angles on the TCL aren’t good but my viewing angles are pretty narrow.
Recently I purchased a Toshiba 43" UV2363DB 4K Smart TV. A major issue I’m having with it is that I can't connect my iPhone using AirPlay.
There is nowhere on the TV shows that I can connect via AirPlay, but I could be looking in the wrong place. Although, there are options that I can mirror from my phone using an app, but I don’t want to be paying for any apps.
If I can't use AirPlay from my iPhone to my TV, what free alternatives are there? There was one option and that was using my Samsung Galaxy A9 tablet via Smart View, but the quality on my TV was terrible, as there is a delay between the tablet and the TV. Any suggestions would be appreciate. Thank you.
I watch a lot of sports, specifically hockey and would love something with an amazing refresh rate for that and good blacks for movies/shows we watch. Glare isn’t a huge concern. Currently have a LG 47LH90-UB from like 2010, which is fine but wondering if there is something better out there without spending a fortune bc i just don’t care that* much.
From Costco:
Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask,
I'm looking at buying a TCL 805K which is obviously a Google TV. My main drawback with the TV is from what I've read, Google TV doesn't support any of the UK catch up apps.
Can anybody with experience of this OS let me know if they're available on Google TV? I can tell for sure there isnt channel 4 because that's discussed everywhere but I've seen some people says iPlayer isn't available too.
My viewing distance is about 13 feet away and the viewing angle is more or less straight on with maybe some slight watching from the kitchen but who cares about details when you're not paying attention right?
I think I'm just looking for a confirmation but as far as big goes, there's not gonna be anything better right? Sure, I would like the X93 or X95 but the X90CL is still a well-rounder if I understand correctly
Hi, I finally decided and got the Bravia 7 two weeks ago. The TV came with two remotes and the stand (although I mounted it on the wall). The picture is quite good, although obviously not at OLED level. Reflections are visible only on black surfaces but are tolerable in my opinion. Upscaling with reality set to Max is the best I have seen so far, but it cannot be measured with Nvidia AI upscaling (not Shield, I am talking about 40xx and 30xx GPU upscaling). It upscales a bit better than Shield TV Pro 2019 when it comes to 480p content. The OS is fast and responsive. Sound is decent and has relatively good surround emulation. It made my Shield TV basically useless (except for game emulation and plex storage). All and all, I do not regret the purchase so far. I hope this can be helpful.
Hi!
Just turned 30, finally at the point where I'm starting to have some adult money/expendable income. Strolling through this thread, it sounds like I'm missing out quite a bit with my base level Vizio from Target.
I've never bought any other TV other than the models you'd find at Target/Walmart.
I currently have a 65" Vizio from Target (2020 model). Looking to stay at 65" but need some recommendations. Looking to spend around $800-1200 this Black Friday.
I don't care the brand, but I would like something that reduces glare pretty well (living room gets sunny in evening).
What's the best I can get out there in that price range?
Primary uses: Netflix, HBO, watching Sports and gaming (PS5)
Thanks!
Hi there! The living room of my house suffers from pretty extreme glare during the day so I’m after a TV that would perform well. Looking around 65in and a $1000 budget. I do have a Costco membership as well.
Thank you!
Looking to buy a new tv in Canada. I went through some of the posts but none of the posts really show the difference between the 2 or which one would be better. I'm leaning towards 751g but 850g is still on play.
I was looking at LG B4 but that's out of my budget.
My budget is $1100 CAD. Would prefer a mini-LED, and I'm not interested in the X90L.
I will normally be using this for shows and movies through a Nvidia Shield Pro. I may occasionally use it to play on my Xbox/ ps5. Which of these 2 TVs would be better, or a comparable TV in that price range.
Thank you for your help in advance!
Ideal spending no more than $1500 CDN, but could be convinced.
Info:
Looking for something that will really make my games look great, and won’t have weird blacks or darkness issues. My current tv is a 55” 4K Samsung from 2018 and it’s been a problem:
I’ve heard OLEDs have burn issues with direct sunlight, so should I look at QLED?
Just looking for some help please, I am struggling to make a choice between a few TVs. I've spent some time really looking around and reading reviews here and on plenty of other sites. As much as I would like a massive TV, I am stuck at the 48 / 50" because its for a small room.
The three main contenders I have are
TCL 50C805K
Samsung QN90D
Philips 48OLED808
There are so many options out there, I think those are all pretty good. Im not sure about the Philips though as its suspiciously cheap for a OLED compared to most other OLED TVs. Any help would be proper appreciated. I do get discounts through work so could go for a little bit more expensive if you can think of any which might be decent that are like £100 more? Appreciate any help
Thanks
Looking to finally upgrade my living room tv this Black Friday. Debating between the LG C4 and Samsung s90d but need some help. My son will be using it for gaming and I heard both are great for it. For me, I love watching movies and sports. I heard that the S90d struggles with low quality content streaming. I can't seem to find a definite answer on if low quality streaming would include whatever they use for NFL games. Wanted to know if ot did because that would be the decision maker. And if not, wanted to ask what people thought would be the better choice for a primarily home theater choice
I recently bought an open box K65XR80B 65" Bravia 8 from best buy Canada for $1875 Cad. The brand new one was going for $2500 cad. Is this a good deal? I haven't bought an open box from best buy before is there anything I should look out for? I know to check for the remote and stand which the website said was included. It's a certified geek squad open box item and the description said it should be in excellent condition. Thanks.
Just got the TCL 55QM751G yesterday.
Does anyone else's headphone jack have a humming/buzzing noise?
Plugged my Anker Q20 headphones into the headphone jack and there is always a humming/buzzing noise through the headphones. The loudness of the buzzing seems to change depending on what is displayed onscreen, and even when I scroll a webpage up and down.
I also connected it through Bluetooth and there is no buzzing, but then there's the problem of audio delay. The audio delay setting doesn't seem to do anything.
There doesn't seem to be any good options for headphone users.
Very bright room TV directly next to large double slider and overhead windows, facing west. Information paralysis. Decided against OLED, I don't think viewing angle will be a concern. I was kinda set on SONY/TCL how do some of the LG offerings compare Pros/Cons
Viewing streaming YouTubeTV/Netflix, lots of sports, gaming not currently/Not a priority. Blu-ray/DVD not a priority.
I read almost the whole sub that I need to stayaway from this tv. Sorry in advance my tv knowledge is low, kinda far to the correct terms.
My current tv is 2019 55” Samsung. It is broken from inside no idea how it happened but suddenly I got a thin line on top of my screen one row. Was looking options for mid budget. Playing ps a lot so want to buy 120hz, also want to upgrade the size to 65 if possible. Then I came accross a listing QN90C barely used with the half price of brand new. Coming with 6 months warranty. I didn’t see the tv yet but only pictures, according to responses I got from here I will go tomorrow and see myself. The guy says its clean and barely used but also he has multiple tv’s on sale telling same story for all. This tv is the best I can get in my budget along those ones too. So please tell me if I should go for it or not? Thanks.
Edit: Also even if I buy it is there anyway to test the tv if there is any issue or not?
I have some confusion with a Sony 55 inches X90L. This is the link
And a 65 inches X90L. This link
Smaller one has a display type and backlight type as -LCD and Direct Full array LED. Prices are already very high here and between the two there is a 750 USD difference and I'm sure it's not only for the size.
Hello all, I’m looking to upgrade my home TV. I currently own an old 40” Sony TV.
I’m looking to spend around £700, and ideally, I would like a 65” TV. I'm mainly looking at getting a Samsung, LG or Sony.
I’d like to know the best TVs in that price range and what to look out for. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
hey my first post here
Budget for tv is 1200e or can give little more if needed The distance of tv will be little less then 3meters (siming for 65inch) The place tv will be... it has direct sunlight from window.. so Oled and my budget is out of question? Was looking at TCL c805 and C845 Sony x90l ( i know its little more expesive the 1200e) Or i can get used x93j that has 3 years warrenty left (for 800e)
Or any other if you have in mind.
Used for: Tv chenals from provider ( needs upscaling) Netflix and movies from disk drive Games from ps4
I think LG or Samsung had an OLED with an external box for connecting your surround, streaming box, etc. Can you remind me which one?
I'm not sure I want one but it's driving me crazy I can't seem to remember.
I am looking for the best budget value 85" for general use in a sunny living room. We are about 10-12 feet away typically and watch kids shows, steaming shows, sports, streamed movies. I am looking into hosting a NAS for some high quality movies soon but we dont do any "home theater" or serious watching.
It seems the TCL 85 in QM751G is my best bet to get the benefits of miniLED while still saying relatively low priced.
I have a Roku Ultra or will be getting the new Google TV Streamer so I won't be using any of the TVs features for streaming.
Any other options I should be looking at? Will be waiting until black friday to see what the prices look like.
EDIT: also I have an old cheap LG sound bar/sub that is good enough for me, but if there is any low price sound bars that you recommend I would like to know about them!
Want to upgrade daughter’s TV - but the place she wants it is above a radiator. OLED is probably out of the question anyway due to cost (although it won’t be a large tv - so I’ll see).
Any panel types to avoid? If it’s not a great idea to place it there, I’ll probably buy cheap and figure can replace every few years.
It won’t be touching the radiator - probably 9-12inches above it.
Thanks!!
