A subreddit for fans of the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer video game console.
The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer (often called simply 3DO) is a video game console originally produced by Panasonic in 1993. Further renditions of the hardware were released in 1994 by Sanyo and Goldstar. The consoles were manufactured according to specifications created by The 3DO Company.
The name of the console is "3DO Interactive Multiplayer." Many simply call it "3DO." Some people incorrectly refer to it as the "Panasonic 3DO." That's not correct. Panisonic is simply one company that had a licensing agreement with the 3DO company to manufacture 3DO consoles. Sanyo and Goldstar (now LG) also had such contracts.

Got a frustrating issue with an Fz-1 and an FZJP1X controller.
The controller works sometimes. When it does, everything is fine and all the buttons work without issues. I can connect and reconnect without problems, wiggle the cable from both ends and power cycle the console and it would continue to work. Leave the console over night and it stops working.
Took it apart yesterday and found a bunch of leaky caps and recapped it. Same issue. Directly after the recap it didn't work, but eventually it did. This morning it no longer works.
I checked the port and everything looks good. No bad joints and ribbon cable seems fine. I measured the voltages and got 5v while the controller was connected.
Any ideas?
Is there a controller test that exists in a game or a homemade application I could run on my 3DO? I just want to be certain of how buttons are mapped when I’m using a BlueRetro wireless adapter with whatever controller I’ve paired.
Many years ago I bought an FZ-10 in its original box for fairly cheap.
I just checked the box and the serial number on it begins with 5J, indicating an Anvil unit.
Will I be able to burn any discs for this or is homebrew basically completely off-limits for these units?
I have the og model with the disc tray. Do you just open while the game is on?
No, I have no connection to the angry video game dude. It's just a photo. I can tell from some of my recent post in here, that r/3DO has some of the most passionate and knowledgeable members. I would be willing to host some YT Streamyard panels on my small platform, if anyone would be interested. Let me know in the comments or message me so we can link information. Let's show the 3DO love in 2025. Question for you to ponder; Is the 3DO console a top 10 console of all time? Make an argument for it or against it.
Hey friends! I wanted to share the progress on the ReturnFire remake (the ultimate 3DO game!) and gather some feedback on how to improve. Currently it contains only the apache and the tank, turrets, and now also you can play against AI opponent! (currently it can control the apache only). Hotseat and CTF mode will be implemented soon. I'm attaching a video link: https://youtu.be/gkqS26Y9_do?si=qYSa_su17x4ZPw_x
You can test it (for free of course) on your PC at https://gadarts.itch.io/openfire or on your Android at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gadarts.returnfire
I'd appreciate your feedback to keep improving it, enjoy :)
I’m wondering if anyone still uses the old Burn app to burn CDs on Mac. I used it to burn cue/bin images for 3DO, but after upgrading to macOS Sequoia, the burns started failing right at the beginning with an “internal error.” The disc is still intact, and I can connect it to the older Mac and burn it without any issues using the same burner and app.
Alternatively, do you have any recommendations for free and preferably open-source CD burning software for macOS that can burn cue/bin images? Converting to ISO and burning with Disk Utility doesn’t work for those images it seems like.
