POST A QUESTION

I spilled coffee on the right part of my Acer Nitro 5’s keyboard. It was just black coffee, no sugar or cream. The moment it spilled I immediately grabbed the laptop and flipped it upside down, and I held it like that until the liquid stopped dripping out. Then, I shut it down and proceeded to clean it up with paper towels. I booted it afterwards and everything works, the buttons work just fine, the backlight has not been damaged. I'll leave it to dry for half an hour, but I low-key still need to work on it kinda urgently? Do I have to leave it to sit? I can't afford that at all :(

So my older brother owns a tech support shop and he gave an older HP envy laptop that was no longer viable as a laptop. So I stripped it down, printed a mount for the board and HHD's and now use it as a desktop for basic stuff and some 3d modelling. My question is can I use this M SATA drive slot to boot and run windows 10? I can't find any schematics or drawings on this exact board.

Hello, I've been having this issue for a few days, where when I turn on the PC, it doesn't show a signal unless I power it off, and turn it back on. Here are my specs.

HP Motherboard (Elitedesk from 2015-16) i5-6500 iGPU in the CPU 120gb Samsung SSD (boot drive) 256gb M.2 (secondary storage) OEM PSU

I have an iPhone 14 purchased in 2023.

The problem started with Instagram, where my “for you” page algorithm broke and hasn’t been the same since. I assumed it was an app issue and moved on and downloaded tiktok. But now the same thing is happening there.

Could the issue be my iPhone itself causing the algorithms to break? It doesn’t seem like it could be coincidence anymore.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips here? Should I just get a new phone?

This started happening a week ago. Had this tv for a few years, don’t know what’s wrong with it. Graphics completely glitch out but I can still hear the game/tv fine.

I tried searching but couldn't find anything similar. My laptop speakers will randomly make a pop sound followed by crackling. While its crackling, no sound will play out of the speakers. After a few seconds, the crackling will stop and then audio is fine afterwards. It appears to be completely random and occurs out of no where. However, it seems to be happening more often recently. I have an Asus vivobook pro laptop. I've tried various things like restarting laptop, uninstalling/reinstalling speaker drivers, and doing other random stuff for the speaker that youtube videos show, but nothing seems to address this specific problem I have. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We're having a strange issue with a newly onboarded employee's company email created on Google Workspace with a paid domain. He's been able to log in just fine, updated his password and use the said email to create accounts for tools like ClikcUp, Slack, etc., so it seems like the account itself is active.

The issue is that we're unable to send him emails or create events on Google Calendar— email only bounces back (both attempts result in 550 5.1.1 error. This has never happened before.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? Would really appreciate any help and insights!

I accidentally knocked over my computer and now the monitor cant find the PC. everything else works as I had a video playing and I could still hear it in my headphones. Any fixes would be appreciated.

I have an external Seagate hard drive and it has become very slow and constantly crashes when I try to access the files.

When I boot the PC with the drive plugged in to the USB, it will take a very long time to boot to Windows. However, if I unplug it, the PC boots up normally. If I plug it in after the PC has booted, I can view the folder list in File Explorer but it will hang and eventually crash when I try to open any of the folders.

I extracted the HDD from the enclosure, it's model number ST2000DM001 and has a 2TB capacity. I tried installing it into two different PCs but it is neither detected by Windows or the BIOS on either PC. The drives does spin, however.

Could it be a corrupt hard drive or is more likely a hardware issue?

Hello guys! My data hdd(second drive) is potentially dying(it randomly became extremely slow) and i just bought an nvme to replace it with, but i dont know how to safely copy all my data without corrupting due to the random blue screens. Both drives are 2tb and the data is around 1.6tb iirc. Also the hdd is at around 29k hours if hwmonitor reports it correctly. I dont need help with the bsod now, that is an old problem that doesnt need to be solved now.

Somedays ago, I found that the history of the videos is being saved in my mobile phone but not in my Pc. This is happening in all of the accounts. this is such a pain because due to the history not being updated, I am being recommended videos that i've already watched... Somebody Help me with this . It's so frustating, No Accurate solution is available online for this.

I’m trying to change the source on my tv but when I press source and the page comes up my remote won’t let me use any of the arrows. I can use it to browse the guide and all my other buttons work except on that one page. Any ideas?

The gas valve is off currently as it’s perpendicular to the pipe, if I make it parallel so the gas can flow, there isn’t any pilot flame so I can use the heater. Am I supposed to use a lighter to manually ignite the burner or pilot if I don’t have any automatic ON/OFF switches for it after turning the gas valve?

So I have 2 Google accounts on one PC, one for work and for personal. The Microsoft account is only one, let's call it 'personalemail' I recently installed microsoft authenticator on my phone, however when I logged in with personalemail it shows all of my passwords from 'workemail' google password manager but none from my 'personalemail' google password manager. I cannot figure out how this happen in the first place, I never wanted microsoft to save my google passwords managers emails, let alone from my 'workemail' account. I cannot understand why this happened and why it happened to the 'workemail' and not 'personalemail'.

Please read this - the issue is not with the TV SOUND as in general because on YouTube, Disney +, etc., everything works (Yes, I made the self-diagnosis on the TV in settings and also tested the volume, which made the correct sound). The problem is when I put on regular TV channels that are broadcasted - the sound is just so quiet you can barely hear when you put it on 100. Please, maybe somebody knows what this is and how to fix this issue?!

Staying in a hotel and cannot turn off motion smoothing on the TV, was wondering if perhaps there were some settings on my connected pc, perhaps on VLC, I could use to reduce it? I've tried messing with the Hz settings but just makes it choppy and worse. Thanks!

Hey all. I’m not a big computer guy and I use an HP Pavillion gaming laptop (with Windows 11) for the extra processing power for Photoshop and the like. I was playing Counter Strike earlier when my laptop crashed, the corners of the screen glitched and the whole system froze up. I restarted it and was given a blue screen, then it was acting normal, then crashed again within about 5 minutes. It’s sitting powered down for right now as I dont want to overheat the system or whatever, however I do recall seeing I can update my windows version and my graphical drivers may be out of date.

My question is, with the ~5 min gap of useability I have is there anything I can do to fix my computer? Ideally I’d like to try to update my drivers (no clue how to do such a thing) and I’m not opposed to a hard factory reset. However I don’t want to inadvertently corrupt the computer further by installing something and then having the system crash during installation. I have a shittier laptop laying around too, is there any way I can use that to fix the main laptop?

Any help is greatly appreciated, I’m a bit of a noobie but will do my best to answer any further technical questions

I tried clean installing 23H2 and 24H2 respectively, but the same issue persists on Microsoft Edge: When clearing browsing data, all buttons there save for the check boxes don't work. Typically when you clear browsing data the window disappears once the operation is done, but there I have to literally close and reopen the tab to see it work.

Is this a version issue? Even the Beta Channel Edge is having the same problem. I don't know what to do at this point. ;>

I’m trying to fix my friend’s laptop. About a year ago in class, his laptop (HP model 14-dq0032dx) randomly shut off and would not boot back up. When I tried to plug it in and boot it, it mainly stays dark, but every ten seconds or so it quickly flashes white one time and goes back to black.

I tried to reset with keys, nothing. Tried to connect it to my external monitor to see if it was a screen issue, no signal. Tried to remove the battery and hard reset, nothing. Clicking the keys that should open BIOS settings and stuff like that do not work.

Anyone have any ideas or know what I can do? At this point I’m thinking it’s something else, not the battery. Not really sure. It could be something with the main components. I’m not a technician, i just like technology and i’m trying to help my friend.

Hey, I had a problem. I turned my refresh rate in the settings to 240. But then, my pc wasn't able to boot normally. But I was able to boot Windows in safe mode. Then I deleted my gpu drivers to make my pc start again. That's working kinda... Even though it's booting, it will crash when im doing something. After a crash, when I wanna Boot my pc again, I have to enter Safe Mode again and do the same. What can I do?

I dropped my Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH315-55-54RF) and now the screen has dead pixels. While the display still works, the dead pixels are spreading, and the bottom half is glitchy (uploaded picture showing its early state).

I’m planning to order a replacement screen, but I need help with a few questions:

1. LCD Model Compatibility: Do I need to know the specific LCD screen model for compatibility, or will the laptop model alone be enough to find the right replacement? Would I need to open the laptop just to identify the screen model?
2. Compatibility risks: If I buy a screen that isn’t compatible, what’s the worst-case scenario? Could it damage the motherboard or other components?
3. Precautions: Aside from disconnecting the battery, are there other precautions I should keep in mind?

i have a kone pro and a jlab microphone, im getting a new pc for christmas. and i have some history of getting some sketchy ass stuff on my laptop and im afraid ill spread it onto my new pc, (if so please tell me)
