I just want to be able to control my volume with my phone and HomePod, and I’ve tried almost everything to get it to work. Yes Anynet is on. Please offer me suggestions. I’ve even completely reset the TV and Apple TV. I’m convinced it’s an issue with my TV because it won’t connect via CEC on my Roku either.

full story: originally before the retainer clip of the w key broke, i was following a tutorial on how to fix keys not working, as when i took off the w key, the key came off but the retainer clip broke into 2 pieces. 1 being stuck in the inside of the key (where the circular bulb thing is) (i don't know what it is) and that the other just, came off.. stripped off from the other half of the retainer clip. please help

It’s an older 26lg3dch LG tv. The hdmi port is locked and we’re going to be here a few weeks. Any help would be much appreciated by both myself and my bed rested, pregnant wife.

We’ve already unblocked the hdmi port in the system. The inputs takes me to three channel banks and an “inactive tv - call attendant”. Unable to get enough torque to unscrew the coaxial.

Hello there! I've got recurring bluescreens on my six-month-old PC. The bluescreens started about 6 days ago. The PC was running fine previously.

My hardware is as follows:

• Intel i7-14700K
• Corsair Dominator Platinum 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 DRAM 3466 MHz C16
• ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus D4
• MSI RTX 3090 Aero Ventus 3X OC 24G
• 512 GB Samsung M.2 NVMe SSD (MZVL2512HCJQ-00BH1)
• 4 GB Crucial M.2 NVMe SSD (CT4000P3PSSD8)

The CPU is running with Intel baseline settings, NO ASUS OC activated. The CPU was already replaced via warranty. The memory is running XMP2 Profile at 3466 MHz.

The bluescreens occur in gaming, watching YouTube via Chrome, or just using Windows in general. The blue screen is only visible for one second, and the PC restarts. Most of the time, I could read "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED." However, the Windows event log and BlueScreenView show no minidumps or other logs except for the Kernel Power error.

I reinstalled Windows 11 24H2, tried older Nvidia drivers, updated the firmware of the SSDs, reseated the memory modules, reapplied thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, and disconnected most of the peripherals I don't need. Nothing worked!

I then removed an older Toshiba NVMe SSD I use for backups, and the bluescreens were gone for 2 whole days. I was gaming for about 16 hours total without any issues. Then a bluescreen occurred this evening, and the system is in a constant 2-minute bluescreen cycle again.

Do you have any idea what I might check next? I'm running out of options.

I have searched everywhere for an answer but I can't find one. I recently uninstalled Sims because of storage issues, but I'm trying to reinstall it now but I'm having a problem. When I try to install it it says "Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (1603)" It then tries to install but it says I already have a later version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 86x installed. So I go to settings to uninstall it but see this (I'll try to add the photo). It only lets me uninstall the first 3 which are none and later than 2015. If I try to uninstall the others it says the feature I'm trying to use is on an unavailable network source. I press OK then it says the installation source for this product is not available. I genuinely don't know what to do and I've been searching all week.

For some reason, I lost the Power Modes on settings after a clean reinstall of windows 24H2.

Does anyone have a fix to it?

Laptop’s been down for a while due to hard drive error but screen was fine I replaced the hard drive today and now this (black line across screen) shows up 😭 is there some connector or do I just need a new screen all together

I just bought an used EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA.

FPS and Temperature seem alright, but i get weird periodic microstrutters in general and ingame even at full 60fps.

No matters, if I stay still in videogames like RE4 and Metaphor i get it, but even stranger, if i just open the retroarch gui the problem appear.

The more the Gpu is used, the more the spikes are high. I get different result with and without V-Sync, but not a completely flat line, or at least for more than 5 second or so. If I manually cap the framerate with rivaturner to 60 fps, the situation improves, but the strutters become periodic for a bit and then reappear when there's something new to render to the gpu.

I have already tested the gpu with different Mobo, Cpu, Hdmi cable, Display Port, Monitor, SSD, Ram and nothing changed.

My old gtx 970 has no problems and the frame-time in retroarch is always flat like it should be.

The only thing i haven't changed is the PSU, a Itek GF750 EVO with the "80 plus Gold" that i recently bought.

Should I return the graphic card, or what?

So I went to use my laptop for the first time in around a month today and it turned on but nothing on the screen

I followed a thread on reddit and hit f10 when turning on and it said something about "checksum error" rebooted on its own and it was fine.

Did half a therapy session around 30min and it randomally turned itself off. I was able to boot it again using the f10 trick, but this time after about 10mins boom powers off again

I let it sit for a few hours and decided I'd try again. Now when I hit the power button I guess you could equate it to trying to start a car. It seems to try and power on, but the fan doesn't kick in until about it's 5th try.

The caps lock is blinking 3 short blinks followed by 5 fast blinks. I thought maybe it was the battery but the laptop is connected to the power cord so I don't know if that's the issue. Does anyone have some advice? I saw on another thread holding windows+b on startup but that didn't seem to do anything

I reinstalled windows and used the smaller 30gb partition to install windows.

Is this normal for the local disk to become filled and red? Will this cause the laptop to start becoming slow? And will it automatically start using the larger volume once it fills up.

Should I reinstall windows and use the larger partition?

I'm pretty sure I just got hacked and now all of my browsers link to Yahoo. I've reset everything in my browsers and deleted everything off my computer I've downloaded in the last week but nothings changed. I've used Malwarebytes to do scans and it says its coming up clean but im still having the yahoo issue. Is there something else I can do or should I just wipe the computer?

I tend to write too long posts, but I'll try to make it clear and as much info that I can provide.

Our company HAD ~20 PCs with local users and win10 and stormshieldVPN configured for ocasional home office. Its been wrorking ok, the user starts the VPN, then enters the IP for its PC on site and jumps right into it. Last weeks we started roll out our newly bought win11 PCs. We went for domain login for each user since the ActiveDirectory groups and users were allready there for years.

Recently a first need to use RemoteDesktop araised and I can't figure out why it doesn't work.

I have a testing laptop with Win10pro, connected with my Android hotspot.

1. Connecting the laptop to Win11pro PC via IP results in an error like here [1]: https://i.sstatic.net/A2POEH38.jpg
2. Connecting connecting the laptop with any other Win10 PC works ok
3. Ping laptop<->Win11 works ok
4. Accessing shared Win11 files \192.168.0.125\files works ok
5. Connecting Win11 RDP to the laptop via IP works ok :o

What I did\test

• remote desktop is ON on both devices
• allowed users are added, but I dont even provide the login in RDP initial screen and I expect it to ask me for the credentials
• laptop has default DNS, Win11 has 192.168.11 from the domain controller and for domain user-login
• "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server" is set to 0 on both devices
• on Win11 I added the remoteDesktop exe for allowed aplications in every type of connections public, private etc.
• on Win11 I added a rule for port 3389 to allow in and out connections in every network type
• Win11 has a "private" network type set, laptop aswell
• RustDesk works if that info helps
• file sharing and discovey is ON on both devices
• I disabled firewall on Win11 completly but no result
• "Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Connections > Allow users to connect remotely by using Remote Desktop Services" = Enabled
• I noticed that laptop has subnet 255.255.255.252 and Win10 255.255.255.0
• laptop -> Win11 "when doint Test-NetConnection -ComputerName 172.16.1.6 -Port 3389" got me "TcpTestSucceeded : True"
• BUT "Test-NetConnection -ComputerName 192.168.0.1 -Port 3389" i got "pingSucceeded True; TcpTestSucceeded:False"
• ChatGPT told me to add on Win11 "route add 172.16.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0 172.16.1.5" but it didn't work

Maybe I'll try to wipe one of the PC without adding it to the domain and test if it works? It could be some default group policy?

I reset my Sony Xperia 10V because of a bunch errors, and I thought I had done my due diligence by backing up what I could to the cloud and sd-card, but when I reconfigured the phone and chose the online backup my sms/mms messages didn't follow along.

I have two gmail accounts: a regular gmail and personalized workspace account, both were logged in, but as the workspace has been my main account and has extra storage I used that one for the backup.

I can find the backup from today on my google drive for my workspace, and I can see that it has about 2gb worth of messages included, so I'm pretty sure all or most of it is there. The backup has the Google One logo announcing that mms-messages are backedup via Google One, however as the workspace account doesn't work with Google One, it perturbs me that all my messages seem to be stuck there. So:

1. Will my messages just magically reappear sometime, and I'm worrying over nothing, or

2. Is it possible to somehow access the backupfile on the workspace account and extract the messages into Android directly, or

3. Move the backup-file from the workspace account to the regular account and have Google One access it from there instead, or

4. Some other option I haven't considered.

Hi, I've decided to upgrade to windows 11 and I was skeptical at first so I tried upgrading one of my old SSD to see how it turned out before I upgraded my main drive. Turns out last night I left the upgrade running and it stayed all night at 88%.

I figured something was wrong with the drive itself so I didn't mind it and went on to upgrade my main drive. Same issue, its been around 3 hours and the upgrade is still at 88%.

I don't know if just leave it alone and wait for the next 24 hours or if there's something that can help me get past this.

Lenovo laptop, bought it start of 2024. It keeps making a rattling sound at the back where the fans are when I move it and sometimes I pull it out of my back and little plastic balls fall out. What is going on?

Anyone knows what are those white zones? It only shows when the screen is pitch black
