Adding some creature comforts

My wife likes to take her Yeti along when she goes for rides with me. Found a great 3D design for some cup holders.

Crank no start after only temperature changes

Travelled from North Carolina to Indianapolis and went to start my 240sx. 240sx is modded so I know thisll be high hell to deal with. SR20DET, 750cc injectors, tomei pon cam, springs and lifters, eagle rods wiseco pistons all on Haltech. It ran and drove and was my daily in North Carolina. Getting here, I cranked it up, it ran and i jist ran it for 5-10 minutes max and cut it off just to show buddies the car. Today, I try and crank it and a few sputters and nothing else. It begins to turn to be a crank no start and stops even trying to sputter. I check my battery voltage, get a brand new battery to be 100% still same deal but cranks faster. Checked fuel have fuel pressure, checked injectors and they spray. Checked ignition coils with a spare spark plug and they gave a faint spark (it was grounded off the engine bay cross bar so maybe bad ground?). Pulled spark plugs and all were wet with fuel and blackened. Cylinder one had a visible bit of fuel in the cylinder. Assumed cylinders were flooded and pulled spark plugs to crank with no fuel. Cylinders are now just moist and spark plugs still smell of fuel when everythings back together. Is the cold in combination of flooding the engine with fuel and fouling the spark plugs keeping it from starting?

1990 240sx Head unit died + smoke. Missing ground?

I replaced my dashboard a few weeks ago, as part of that process I disconnected my aftermarket pioneer single din head unit, and then popped the same head back in. The Stereo worked for about 45 minutes, then flickered on/off a little bit, then shut off completely and I could smell a little bit of burning typical to electronics over heating and dying.

I pulled the head out again and inspected the wiring, and I did notice that there seems to be no ground pin in my harness where i would expect it to be from the wiring diagram, and a severed ground wire attached to the metal under the dashboard. It's definitely been like this for about 20 years now, but I suspect this might be my problem and I was just getting lucky before.

Current status:

  • Head unit cannot power on
  • Head unit fuse: Good
  • Audio fuse at driver's footwell fusebox: Good
  • Checked continuity of everything in the detachable harness to the head unit: Good, no shorts detected, wire condition & insulation looks good.
  • Checked 12v continuity from the car's wiring harness to the drivers side fuse box: also good.
  • Disassembled the head unit (it's a ~7 year old pioneer aftermarket unit that was around $80) I don't see any obvious signs of damage, obviously fried electronics etc. I definitely can't rule out damage in here caused the smoke odor.

I didn't check speaker wires yet, but I don't think that's the issue. The rear speakers are currently disconnected though, it's possible the dangling wires made contact shorting out the circuit there, or contacting the body? Maybe I should have taped those off instead of letting them bounce around...

Let me know if you guys think I should try to replace this severed ground wire, or not. Also if there are any other recommendations before I chuck this head unit and install a new one. I won't miss the old one, but I'd rather not immediately brick a new one.

Clutch fluid

Is it normal for the clutch fluid to constantly turn black, days/weeks after flushing the fluid? Usually it means rubber seals are going bad, but even with new parts it seems to change to black quickly.

Sunroof question

I need to replace the seal around the sunroof glass. This is the seal that attaches to the glass itself, not the seal below.

From what I can tell it would be this seal, correct?

Is this the oil pump or the timing chain?

Engine makes this noise at start up when cold. Eventually goes away after about 5-10 minutes. Oil pressure when at operating temp is about 12-15, on throttle climbs to 45-55psi.

Any ideas?

Gearbox conversion

Just wondering peoples ideas for cost effective gearbox conversions on an S14a to take a maximum of 650bhp in the future? UK spec so RHD. I've looked at Cd009 and it's just too damn expensive and big, as is Supra and R34 boxes. I've been looking at the bmw zf 5 speeds from the e36's and the 300zx TT box. Both can use the SR20DET flywheel, the 300zx box can use the SR20DET clutch to. I don't know on props.. And I'm unsure regarding speed sensors and starter locations.. Any people with any experience or knowledge on this would be hugely appreciated. TIA.

Probably a dumb question but I couldnt find answers for it online. Im new to modding cars and am wondering if I can install overfenders without needing to cut my quarter panels and fenders. I like the look of widebody but dont care for the larger wheels and would still run 17"x9" + 20 that I have.

Front Lip

Does anyone have any recommendations for shark nose front bumper lips. Mainly wanted good fitment and quality. I have seen some east bear reps as the real ones are hard to come by. I don’t mind running a rep as long as the fitment is good. Photos would be great thanks 👍

Problems getting fuel to the engine

I have a 93 S13 and I finally put a gas tank on the car after it not having one for a while (it’s been sitting for a good 6 years). Got a brand new fuel pump, new fuel filter and clean fuel pump hanger, new rubber lines. The problem is it’s not getting fuel to the fuel rail, the fuel pump primes and pumps but no fuel gets up there. My guess is the metal fuel lines might be clogged? Looking for recommendations of what I can do, I thought about blowing the lines out with an air compressor but want to see what someone else would think/do.

Help Identifying Connector/No Spark

Happy Thanksgiving y'all, I've finally made it to first start-up day on my project, rebuilt with a KA24DE from a roller that used to be RB swapped. It's a 91. Does anyone know what this black plug next to my PTU is? I'm getting crank, no start, with no spark to my plugs and can't help but think this is relevant. My next best guess is just that the distributor sensor isn't giving my ECU a good read so it's withholding spark. Also, I don't have the bracket and notice the PTU has a metal bottom, do I need that to be grounded there or something? Thank y'all in advance for helping me understand this issue.
