This sound has been happening since I bought the car over a year ago. Mostly through 1st-3rd gear when I let off the gas and let the car coast. I just barely installed a new flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, throw out bearing, pilot bushing, and all new clutch hydraulics. I also got a metal shift lever “collar bushing” to replace the broken plastic one. Pivot ball and clutch fork looked pretty new as well, no excessive wear. What/where is this sound coming from?
Props to who ever put this one together, it belongs in a mad max film 🏆
my best guess is bad maf, any other please let me know.
My throttle response is low, no matter how much I step on the gas is not as responsive as it used to be and just goes up and a constant slow rate. I could drop the clutch at 4K rpm and it would catch slowly and ease into it with no tire chirp. I used to be able to clutch kick and drift but now I can't.
Still gets up to speed well it just doesn't accelerate properly. Amy ideas would be very appreciated 🙌
If I'm looking at a 89 240 that's bone stock with the exception of a 2.5" brm catback exhaust what's a reasonable offer. Runs drives and is insured.
Anyone have done a hitch on a S14 ?
it's been like this for a bit, but started getting so bad to the point that i will lose all power occasionally on acceleration. in the past, my injectors kept getting clogged up because of nasty fuel going through my rail. i replaced the fuel filter, should probably still flush my tank, but the sputtering has remained. my common misfire is gone now because the injectors are no longer getting clogged, at least the way that they were before, but i continue getting a bad sputter on acceleration in all gears.
I have been wanting to get into having a project car/modding a car & 240sx have always stuck out to me. But it seems very intimidating to actually start a project car. Do you need boundless amounts of money or can someone on an average salary make do? Do you need precise welding skills & a buddy with a garage or can you DIY the simple things with some research? Is it better to start with a shell or spend more to get a drivable car & put mods on it? Total car newb but i work in IT so troubleshooting & break/fix is my specialty
EDIT: my goal is to learn & be more mechanically-savvy, enough to do minor repairs. also to complete & have a project car & make it unique in some way shape or form. definitely not for competition or races. i just want to get into the hobby, headaches & all
my engine has been making a ton of crank case pressure. (Blowing dip stick out and oil out of the catch can) rebuilt thinking it was the rings. Did my first drift event with rebuild and my car still had excess crank case pressure. friend on Instagram told me that it could possibly be my turbo (eBay 2871 turbo). So I made an impulse buy. I’m still waiting on oil feed line, brake master shield, and a banjo for my brake line. Really hoping this fixes my issue and if it doesn’t, I don’t know what to do next. 😵
As the title says, I'm looking for an s15 differential for my s13. What are some reputable importers and what do you think would be a fair price to pay?
My 180 got dyno tuned today and is almost done with being upgraded into the 21st century. Can't wait to get her back.
Started stripping my s13 and just wanted to know if there are any rubbers/ bushings that I should replace. From my multiple inspections the only thing I can find that is cracked is the tie rod ends. Thanks in advance 🙏🏼
i got a 1993 s13 coupe with a ka24de thats cranking but not starting. i got it with a blowen head and bent valves got the head fixed and replaced the gaskets. its now holding compression, has fuel and spark. the egr system has been takein out and blocked. any help/ideas are appreciated. thanks
May be a dumb question, it might just be my Fiberglas fenders, but I have had an issue for awhile with my car being uneven. My passenger side is maxed on the coilovers and my driver side has about an inch before it’s maxed, and the passenger side sits in farther than my driver side. I bought some adjustable lca’s, and just decided to make it even through that. Obviously, this means the adjustment from one side to the other is different, my passenger side is extended out more than the driver side, but camber and ride height are the same and the car is mostly level and aligned well. Will this cause any issues? I just want it to be even and look symmetrical. Pfa
Would 525 CCA/650 CA be enough for my ‘89 240sx? Been running the car on a 700 CCA battery, don’t know if I’ve been overdoing it, or if I shouldn’t switch to a smaller battery.
This one happened outside of a main office for our body shop. I didn’t want to believe it while I was pulling footage for the multiple involved parties, but close up pictures taken by people on scene confirm it was once a clean OEM+ S14.
Word is the driver was drunk, hit 3 other cars while driving on the expressway. Then while attempting to flee, he got off on a service road and made sure to total his car and the stationary Dodge Caravan parked with the company next door to us.
Guy is going to be in jail for a while, and facing a laundry list of charges. Because he drove drunk, caused a bunch of mayhem, and now we have one less s14 in the world.
Be safe out there folks.
So for anybody having auto seatbelt issues rpm gauge and blower motor issues all at the same time. The driver's side kick panel fuse block there are relays behind it. Pain in the ass to get too but I think it was second from the top or bottom fixed it. These issue were happing all the sudden all at once.
Also ignition switch this happened later on down the road but the switch would blow the fuse instantly when you turned the key. Found out that the aluminum case that the switch goes into the lock cylinder was getting 12 volts. You could still start the car with the switch outside of the lock cylinder with a flat head tho replaced it no issues. Hope this helps sorry for bad punctuation 😂 cheers.
