When General George Washington took command of the Continental Army, there was no Continental Navy to fight the mighty British Navy. So George Washington bought the schooner Hannah, which became the first ship commissioned by the Continental Army in 1775.

This kit contains everything you need to build the ship in a bottle you have always dreamed of. It includes precut wooden parts, brass photoetched decks, keel, and decorated bulwarks. A beautiful glass bottle is also included.

Scale: 1/300
Model Length: 3.75"

Jumping in

Played Fletcher Pratt Naval game recently and wanted to put together some fleets for the back yard. Choose some Tamiya British ships to start with. I come from a 28-35mm tabletop gaming background, any tips or pitfalls to watch out for?

Been looking at the extra kits for wooden decks by third parties, do they usually work well and add to the model ir are they not worth it?

Dd445 Fletcher

I've been watching a bunch of modeling videos and got the itch to build something after a 15 year Hiatus.

I picked up a Tamiya DD445 Fletcher kit locally and slowly bought tools as I needed them. I also added photo etch. This was my first time working with photo etch as well as doing rigging.

There's a lot id do different next time, however I'm still very pleased with the end result and am looking forward to paint and a small water diorama!

My apologies to the members of 1_700shipbuilders

Hey guys I wanted to apologize for not being an active participant in the subreddit. Since going back to work I have little time to build ships any more but I still love 1/700 always have always will. I do keep an eye on the subreddit just in case trolls show up and do comment on posts so keep building and posting your ships planes tanks etc as long as they're 1/700 scale lol.

What do you think about a $60 pair of nippers lol?

So I havent purchased a ship in a long time I decided to get a pair of expensive nippers. These are the God Hand nippers which are supposed to be really clean cutting. I figure this will probably be the only time that id do this.
