All things in relation from January First 1700 up until December 31st 1799 (forget the old calendar).
The best century to ever occur in the history of mankind!
Please share any good books, links, music, or anything related to the history or culture of the 1700's. I allow music such as sea shantys and folk tunes, even if they are modernized, I love that stuff, because of the overlying folk feeling and origin behind it.

From what there is on-line, he strikes me as an interesting character and certainly someone worth remembering. The 19th Century apparently agreed! So why is he relatively obscure today? Did de Kalb become unfashionable during the World Wars?
