16 f150

Just put a 5.0L create motor in my truck. Brought it to ford for some warranty work with 3500km on it and they said the catalytic converters were plugged. So me jumping the gun I gutted them now it sounds like garbage in my opinion. Looking for an aftermarket replacement high flow or something along that line. Been looking I can’t seem to find anything, anyone know of anything or anywhere that would be great thanks.

2020 f150 5.0

I’m doing a complete resto mod on a 1973 f250. I have a complete 2021 f150 transmission. wiring harness and computers, and a parts engine with good everything but the lower end and block. I purchased a 2020 f150 5.0 that needs a new cam phaser. So my plan was to swap out the cam phaser from the 21’ to the 20’. Change the manifold, and valve covers to the 21’s that way all the wiring could be used but I’m now reading online that there are differences between the two engines pistons and cams. I’m just looking to know if I’ll run into any issues with what I’m doing or for any input or info on my situation. Thanks, Brody

I'm looking at a 2014 F150

Is the sunken valve issue so common I should look at newer trucks? I really like the truck, it runs great with no miss and has 145k miles. Just not sure how common the intake valve issue actually is.

Need help

I was driving around town when my car, 2016 Ford Mustang GT, suddenly came to a stand still in the middle of a busy road. Naturally, I tried to turn it back on and it wouldn’t start (the battery was not dead). I got a message on the dash “cranking time exceeded”. Then, I towed in my car to Sunnyvale ford service center. I asked them to take a look at it and also requested to do the 40000 mile maintenance service while it was there. They diagnosed that a coil transformer capacitor had failed and then they would replace it and it’d be good to go. After about three weeks, I got a message saying that my car is fixed and ready to pick up. When the service advisor called me, I asked him if he had also done the 40000 mile maintenance. He said he had forgotten and then still offered to do it by end of day so I could pick it up. When I was about to leave work to go pick up my car, I called to ask if the car was ready. He said the maintenance was completed and the technician has gone for a test drive. A while later I was told that the car broke down and had to be towed back to the service center. Now, a month later, my car is still at the service center. The latest update is that they would need to open up the engine in order to be able to “fix the car” and that would cost a fortune. So obviously, I told them not to proceed any further. At this point, they gave me two options: either to pay for the service, labor and parts until this point and tow it back. OR pay for a new engine. What are my best options at this point? My car is completely stock and regularly serviced and driven only in and around the city. I don’t see any reason why the engine should fail at 40000 miles.

  1. I already tried to reach out to the service manager in all possible ways but with no response.
  2. I tried to reach out to ford customer service. They are just relaying the same information back to me from the service advisor.
  3. I tried to reach out to Ford on social media - instagram and twitter. No luck there.

I am thinking of lodging a complaint against the service center. Please advise. P.S (My car is out of the warranty period)

Hello I have a question on my 2018 mustang gt… she tends to stutter and fluctuate in RPMs when I hop off the freeway like there is a misfire happening but can’t be because I changed spark plugs and haven’t have no check engine light any ideas…

Can you make a Coyote look good?

I’m just kind of in the early daydreaming stages of planning a Factory Five Cobra kit car build. It seems like a Coyote is the best bang for the buck engine if you want reliability and killer performance. The main hangup I have is that I’ve always had this traditional chromed-out engine bay image in my head, but a crate Coyote looks nothing like that. What are the best ways to dress out a Coyote and make it look a little flashier with the hood up?

What is it, the Coyote.

I have a question about Ford engines.

Is the Coyote just a version of the Triton?

coyote swapping.. a coyote?

alright so here’s the situation; i have 2012 mustang gt 6 speed manual. my engine had a rod knock, which resulted in it being seized up. my engine had been burning oil and i hadn’t realized it until i went to get an oil change and the shop said it had been running dry and had metal flakes in the oil pan.

to add insult to injury, i’m active duty military and was stationed in pascagoula, ms at the time and am originally from atlanta, ga. i’d make frequent trips to go home for the weekends. well, apparently i had been running dry for 1000+ miles (about 400 miles one way for 3-4 months.) there’s a local shop less than a quarter mile from my house that i know the owners of, since i was friends with their daughter in high school.

now, i want to get her fixed and they are willing to cut me a deal. i’ve been looking for months at engines, and instead of paying $3500+ for a mustang coyote, i’m debating on getting an f150 coyote of the same year (2012.) i haven’t been able to find any forums or any videos on it. mostly what i see is the 05-09 3v getting coyote swapped with an f150 engine, which is somewhat helpful. i know the compression ratio is different and i’d need a tune to mitigate that, but what else should i be aware of beforehand? does anyone know of someone who’s done this? from my understanding, the f150 coyote is basically a direct bolt on and shouldn’t be much of a hassle to install. would i need any relocation or custom fab work done? i can’t afford to sell it since i still have a loan on it, and insurance won’t cover it. there isn’t an option to return it, so at this point it’s either 1. get it fixed, 2. make payments ($476/mo) for a lawn ornament, or 3. let it be repoed. any information will be helpful.

tl;dr my car has a seized engine and want to replace it with a cheaper ($1750) f150 coyote instead of a pricey ($3500+) mustang coyote. any information is greatly appreciated

Definitely not the fastest out there but definitely a good start. 613WHP was it's best pull before. Not to bad, but not the end goal

Best CAI?

Been looking to get a Cold air intake. Is there any particular one that is best or is it all personal preference? I was thinking of going with steeda or JLT but havent made up my mind. I want to squeeze the max from my car, and down the road get additional bolt ons.

Tuner for my s550

I've been looking around on American Muscle for a tuner to go along with my intake and the two most popular seem to be Bama and SCT. Any recommendations on which one I should go for? Or if you suggest any other, any feedback is appreciated. I'm not an expert in cars, but I'm starting to get into them.

What kind of Jell Cell or Sealed batteries are you using? I like Optima but they don't make a low profile battery that fits in my 2013 GT or 2014 V6.
