Welcome! This is r/collapse but without all the stupid fucking rules. Adorn us with all of your favorite collapze related graffiti. Hope you filthy Redditors have a nice end of the world, you degenerate sacks of shit.
This sub is for those who enjoy r/collapse's Shitpost Fridays and would like to experience that every day. It's easy to have one's posts removed in r/collapse, which is a good thing over there as you can see from some of the removed posts that end up in r/collapse_wilds. I am taking a more relaxed approach in this sub and letting the community decide what they want to see by letting it vote on the users' submissions.
Other collapse shitpost sources:
Rules: Don't break reddit's site-wide rules (the stuff that get's subs banned) and don't spam products (entirely) or blogs. Religious doomer proselytizing is annoying as fuck and such submissions will be removed, the same goes for any discriminatory shit, open or suggested -- basically don't be an asshole.
If you don't like someone or their content, you are welcome to block them.

I think one of the mods is convinced, like some others, that I am a fearmongering cult member who needs to be censored. As opposed to a person just as concerned with the consequences of collapse as any of us. What a shame.
The post in question:
I really don't mind it anymore. I made my peace. We really love turning things into debate, and that's such a great thing in general usually. We also use debate to shield ourselves from truth that can hurt us. It's ok, it's a survival technique. I don't judge anyone for it.
There are no winners in this. :(
We think if we argue enough, we can convince the universe to spare us. Perhaps it will, perhaps it won't, but we aren't really members of that conversation, we're just the ants running around trying to figure out what consciousness even is, and it's so far beyond what our tiny ape minds can wrap around.
It's all gonna be ok, because it always has been and always will be. Our energy will fold back into whatever the fuck this place is and re-emerge again to do other shit across the next quintillion+ years.

This post is collapse-related because the OP is reflecting on the philosophical dimension of collapse (regarding our relatively tiny scale in a much vaster system) as well as the psychological and interpersonal responses we have to the process of collapse (fear, speculation, cognitive defence mechanisms, and heated debate).
In this sense, OP is offering a meta-commentary on the human experience of macro collapse, tinged with an air of wistful nostalgia for a species already well in transition.
OP's parent comment, by the way:
Yep. Except there is no hope. We have already locked in a minimum of 3 to 4 degrees no matter what miracles of technology we come up with in the next 10 years.
Nobody believes that humans can go extinct. I hate admitting it’s true too, but it’s still true, and we will. No human will make it to 2100.
It's impossible to say a number with high confidence, of course. Some will say 2100 is ridiculous, it's way too soon. Some will say 2100 is ridiculous, it's way too far off.
I return to our trusty sub motto: "Exactly as expected."
What do OP, Michael Dowd, Karen Perry, Dr. Guy McPherson He Who Shall Not Be Named, "Sam Hall", Dr. Andrew Glikson, Dr. Will Steffen, and "Sam Carana" all have in common? It's that, contrary to this person's proclamation, they all understand that at this stage of human technology, and at the sheer scale and extent to which the biosphere has been tampered with, collapse and extinction are two sides of the same coin.
