    Starting out

Hi guys. After thinking about starting this game i finally made the choise to do so. However i need some advice on my first team. By the rule of cool i would either go with the norse or the vampire team. What do you guys recommend for a total newbie? If you can give me some detail regarding your answer thats even better. Or should I start with a completely different team? Thank you all in advance.

    Unable to decide between teams

    Hello everyone,

I am unable to decide between playing my Norse team or my Vampire team in my upcoming league and looking for some pros/cons to both teams as I am fairly new to this awesome game.

I’m leaning towards vampires for the sake of loving them but feel Norse may be an easier ride because of starting skills and the piggy giving free ups to prone folks.

For context we have mostly tier 1 teams and it’s a shorter “getting started” league and I had a rough run with vampires in sevens preseason games but I feel vampires do better in elevens.

Can’t wait to hear everyone’s opinions.

    PAX Unplugged Tournament?

So here’s a shot in the dark: I’m attending Pax Unplugged in Philadelphia and was kinda bummed to see there wasn’t an official Blood Bowl event on the schedule. Does anyone know if there’s gonna be any organized play during the convention? And if so, where would one sign up for some fun times with some of the best the gaming community has to offer?

Am I right in thinking you could fire players in order to use a Star player in league?

Quite new, figuring things out, but if I fired let's say a big in blocker and had 10 players, and the TV worked out, I could field a star player instead? It's in a league and I wanna try a mega star. TIA

Edit : I randomed a bad skill for a Big Un Blocker (shadowing) and have the Bomber Dribblesnot and Fungus the Loon pieces heading my way in the post from Etsy. Wondering how to field them. It's my first ever league.

2nd edit: thank you Reddit I love you

Skaven STLs with a 90s vibe?

I can size things down when I print them to be a better size match, that's not a problem, but I'm looking for STLs that won't break the bank that wouldn't look out of place with my other 90s era minis.

    These are cool: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-rat-fantasy-foorball-team-195965

But I'm wondering if anyone else can suggest options? I feel like I'm not finding as much as I expected.

Why I like playing Goblins in BB3 and league

I’ve been getting more into goblins lately and I’ve noticed part of where I get my joy from. When you play a goblin team, your team is forever going to be changed (most of the time).

Win or lose, you’re going to have to limp away with your shattered team while I just replace whatever disposable players I lost and move on the next victim, I mean, opponent.

Tournaments where all my carnage is for naught isn’t as much fun, but I should stick with it, I think.

Goblins also take some legit strategy to play well, which I also like and still have a ton to learn.

Referee rules from Spike Almanac 2021 - anyone use them?

We've just finished a season and are gearing up for the next. We're debating adding these rules - has anyone used them in a league, and if so, how did they play?

I played about 11 turns of a friendly using them last night and my opponent and I agreed they didn't slow the game down much but the ref could get in the way of a slow-moving cage for both the offence and defence (cut off blitzing avenues).

Pnp Blitz Bowl Second Ultimate Edition

    Hello all,

Since this game is unavailable in Europe (well - except for German edition). I am thinking about either getting a German copy and printing out the English cards, or creating the game on my own from scratch. Does anyone have any PnP files or scans, preferably of the Second Ultimate Edition? I tried looking for the files on Tabletop Simulator, but sadly the Second Ultimate Edition is not there (the one labeled as such is UE not SUE) and if I had to make it ready to print myself, I would prefer it to be the newest one.

Thank you all for your help!

OWOBB #53: How I got Gud at Blood Bowl

One World, One Blood Bowl, the podcast/vodcast many are calling 'not as good as it used to be' dares to tread in the rarefied waters of 'Blood Bowlers that think they are good at Blood Bowl'. Now Blood Bowlers on the whole are a humble breed, happy just to roll dice and chortle as the other guy wins. But apparently not all of them.
Incredibly we have managed to find three such coaches, and more specifically, they think they have 'got gud' recently, and are still improving. Sounds like I ought to ask them how they did then then. So I shall. And check if any are hand rollers, 'cos that might explain it.
    The Panel:
PurpleChest: It's always him, isn't it?
MarkyMarc: New name, new attitude for McNaughton?
nonumber: Runs 12 Tournaments a year, which is a number, I'm certain.
GreenSkinPhil: Used to do sports, not actually called Phil.

Until the dream comes true, and i manage to find a way to do 90 minutes on Blood Bowl through interpretive dance, it's the same old thing: Live at 9pm UK time (currently GMT) Sunday 3rd November on https://www.twitch.tv/purplechest, and soon after catch up on twitch VOD, YouTube and all good podcast emporia.

And a huge thank you to all that bought OWOBB dice on ebay (still available), I took my long suffering wife out for a decent dinner at her favourite local restaurant. She had fish, but i had something nice.

Does anyone have the dimensions (roughly) for the Dwarven Death Roller mini and what size base it should sit on? I've tried looking online but can't see them.

    Help for a rookie

Hello! After my SO showed an unexpected interest in the gnome team, we are finally venturing into the bloodiest sport. So to begin with, I am buying said team, a treeman (the regular one, because it's cheaper and has an apparently famed squirrel!) and the second edition box. But since it's quite a lot of money to begin with and we don't want 3 teams yet, my plan is to sell some, or all, the human Nobility team to, at least, make up for the gnomes.

However, before even reading the rules, I saw that a) the gnomes are pretty bad/tricky to play with, and b) the human star player in the box is pretty good. Is it worth keeping him to play with the gnomes (and potentially the ogre?) and selling the rest? What about the orc star player and the orc team in general? Not a super fan of them either, but I planned to keep them in principle. Although, if they're also tricky to play with, I may ditch them too to get another team I like more (necromantic look pretty cool, or goblins, not sure yet).

    Thanks in advance!

    2ns attempt

Second attempt as making a BB team for orcs with the advice on my last post.

Do the assistant coaches, cheerleaders, or dedicated fans not matter at all?

Also looking at the games workshop site I can only see gouged eye orcs which does not say it comes with big un blockers and only 2 blitzers is there anywhere that's good to get these? Or is it that you'd have to buy a few sets?

    Prepared lineups are bad etiquette?

I was told today by a reliable source that if you pull out your phone at the beginning of a drive and set up your team using a pre-decided line up for your players that this is frowned upon? Why is that please? I often prepare tactics for different races and use a folder on my phone to store lineups for both kicking and recovering. Apparently this isn't cool....

FURTHER EDIT - NAF rule book 6.2 covers the use of "guides" and such. Thank you GhengisKen.

EDIT - the guy who told me was cool with it during our league game, he just said at tournaments some people feel its not proper.

SECOND EDIT - I may buy an A4 notebook and make it WAAAAAGH!!!!! and write "HOW TO KILL FINGS" plastered across the front with a big Orc logo :)))
