An outlet for us shorter gals to discuss what irks or excites us about our height. Does finding pants makes you mad, yet being able to fit into spaces most people can't make you extremely happy? Come join our happy parade in Short Two X.

Welcome to Short Two X

A community intended for the shorter womens' perspectives. Any and all content is encouraged as long as it pertains to us short ladies.

For the purpose of this subreddit, 5'3'' and below is "short" for women while 5'7'' and less is considered "short" for men. But everyone is welcome as long as you're polite and respectful.

Don't forget to add some flair! For conversions:

  • 140cm = 4'7''

  • 150cm = 4'11''

  • 160cm = 5'3''

  • 170cm = 5'7''

  • 180cm = 5'11''

Or, for exact measurements, use this to convert from cm to in or vice vera, and this to convert from inches to feet or vice versa.

RULES

No verbal abuse, hate speech, bigotry, sexism, slurs, racial slurs, or any other kind of disrespectful commentary. HEIGHTISM IS AN INSTANT BAN. If someone posts something silly, it is to be taken as so and not literally. Not EVERYTHING posted is an attack on short people. We can enjoy a good joke as well.

young and petite, awkward situations.

Being petite as well having a baby face can lead to some awkward situations where someone mistakes you for being much younger than you really are. I will share one with you, and if you feel like it share one with us!!

My husband drove me to the dentist and waited with me in the waiting room. After what seemed like forever, the assistant open the door and called my name to be seen. As we walked down the hall she lead me to Room that I'm sure was a mistake. It was the kids dentistry room. Before saying anything, she opened the chart and quickly said "wrong room.", before leading me to a regular room. This woman thought I was a kid before looking at the chart. She didn't say anything about the mistake, but I knew. It had to be awkward for her as it was for me lol.

"Cute" [just a dumb rant]

I can't stand it.

You pick clothes that fit well, you think "damn, I look sexy." And you get "cute." Cute, cute cute.

Hey, look at that cute girl in the (terribly inaccurate) ewok cosplay.

OMG, you look so cute compared to your friends.

You're just so adorable in those clothes!

Why can short girls only ever be "cute" or "adorable." I hate it.

Short disadvantages

Who wants to make this more active?

List some annoying things about being short!!

Like when you are on a full city bus and you can't reach the stability bar above your head.

My feet are crazy tiny...

I'm a size 3/4 in children's shoes. I save money on shoes, but nine times out of ten, everything is covered in glitter and pink. Ladies, where on EARTH can I find small shoes that won't break the bank, that aren't for pre-teens?

Maybe a weird question, but at what age did you start your period?

Since one of the theories has it based in body fat ratios, and since that is somewhat dependent on height, was it on the later side of average, or outright late?

Ladies, Where Do You Go to Shop For Clothes? (xpost from /r/short)

Thought I'd give this post another try here since I had no response in the other sub.

The only place I can find clothes are Abercrombie kids (especially for jeans), H&M, & F21 - although at those two places, I still have to alter quite a bit. It's especially difficult to find business attire, particularly in the slacks department. Have not found a single place where the crotch didn't hang so low - even a 00 petite at Ann Taylor is just way too big for me. So where do you ladies shop? Any tips or great online finds?

What is your favourite shop for petite clothes?

Mine is Next in the UK, 27" inseam is perfect for me! Topshop is also quite nice, but I'm not use to clothes being so short on me! :D
