I have wifi ax and usually I get 14MB/s on X Plore on my phone. I had to fiddle with obb and android data folder and then I moved to ES file Explorer. After this I noticed how slow ES is to copy files to/from my remote pc. Only 4MB/sec.

I get same numbers on my meta quest headset with these file explorers.

Any idea how to tweak ES to improve smb copy?

I'm trying to install YouTube tv on my philips neopix prime 2 over adb but it says app exists but it does not show up under pm list ?

So, I brought it on March 6th. Initially, ofcourse, it all worked well. About a month later, I got a lenovo pen plus for the tab. It still worked fine. After a bit, the tab began to have occassional screen freezes. Like the tab remained perfectly operational and running but touch input didn't register. The pen still worked just fine. It started and ended intermittently, but usually, locking and unlocking the device solved it instantly untill it appeared again. This is truly eratic and may occur in intervals of like a couple of hours to a couple of minute between each attack. There is, SOMETIMES a message saying " Process pen.service has exceeded it's memory limit of 260 MB". This appears rarely. Also, for some reason, sometimes holding and swiping gets some touches through, though again, very irregular and erratic. If I persist, the issue sometimes goes away or gets worse. I've observed some sensitivity irregularity in such a state, like minor movements causing it to scroll large sections of a page, sometimes I see some lag, though not necessarily system, maybe it is screen being laggy, IDK. It occurs even when the pen is disconnected and I've tried - Restarting, Using Lenovo diagnostics, deleting any apps that may have even close to have caused that, Clearing cache of the pen process, tried adjusting the nib of the pen, gone into safe mode About the safe mode, I spent 45 minutes but didn't observe any issues, but then again, It appears with great irregularity and I didn't do any of my ususal stuff, like reading pdfs or comics. Regarding apps, I have nothing overly demanding. Mihon(Manga reader), Xodo pdf reader(free), syncthing, brave browser, firefox, Krita, Skul(Roguelike), rar, Wikipedia, Squid notes, Joplin notes, FDM, Briar, Fdroid, Tubular, Youtube, aka everything yhat I already have on my phone. I've comtacted lenovo support but their only remaining tip is a factory reset or visit to service centre. I live in India and near Mumbai. Ask me any supply any appropriate technical details I've missed if it can help. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if I'm in the right place but before Google updated duo to be meets, my profile used to have just my phone number. Now with meets when I make a call it shows my Google profile with my name. But when I go to change it it shows on my name as changed but it doesn't on the recipients end. It still shows two different profiles even though the contact number is still the same for both and with the same email address for my meets account.

All the photos and albums in my Gallery exist within the "Pictures/Gallery/owner" directory -- is it possible to change the directory?

The goal is to make the Gallery use the "Pictures/" directory instead of "Pictures/Gallery/owner" to display ^((and create)) all the images and albums from by default.

Pictures/Gallery/owner --> Pictures/

I'll also accept recommendations for any third-party Gallery apps with a modifiable directory!!!

So I've been having this issue and I'm curious if theres a fix for it. If I use the assistant and say "call 123-456-7890", sometimes it'll call but generally it will respond with "who do you want to call" and then i repeat the number again and then it calls.

is there any way that it will just call the first time and not make me repeat the number?

When I recieve a whatsapp notification any of the multimedia sources(spotify, youtube, prime video, phone's own video player) stops playing the multimedia. Does anyone know what is the problem?

Edit: The phone in the question is Samsung Galaxy A71 2020. It had a screen change recently.

Edit 2: I looked at the whatsapp settings. It had the notification sounds open even though i closed it since I had this phone. My problem might be related to that but I'm still open to different solutions.

Given that it is out of OneUI support, I was considering installing LineageOS on it so that it can continue to be used. I have a suspicion this might be a fairly finicky; can anyone point me to an easy way to get this done? Also, how long can I assume the phone to be supported for? I was going to ask on r/LineageOS but they specifically rule out questions like this (so I'm very sorry if this question isn't allowed here either)

Recently dropped my google pixel 7 pro and yesterday i could use half the screen but today the screen is completely unresponsive, what do i do. i was gonna try and do a factory reset and maybe downgrade it to android 14 to even see if my screen has life.

For context I live in the Philippines and I want to upgrade from my Redmi 13c 4/128 I have a budget of ₱15k or around 270$ all I want is a phone that has decent gaming performance, I do have some choices with the Redmi note 13, Samsung galaxy A26, and infinity hot 50i But maybe there are other choices you guys recommend or give your thoughts about which of the phone I should pick

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm not receiving texts from my doctors office (they don't have an app, its just an automated text that gets sent to alert me to messages with a link I click that takes me to their website.) They said they've been sending me messages but I'm not getting them. I sent a text back saying "test" and they received it but I'm not getting theirs. The number isn't in my blocked list and when I went on Verizons website to try blocking and unblocking it on there, it said it was unable to block it. Which usually means it's already blocked somewhere. It's not listed in my iphone block list or the Verizon call filter app as a blocked number. I'm baffled on how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

So the other day my phone got in a small body of water for 5 minutes. The screen stopped working and only showed weird signals of being alive. With some time, apparantley it consistently shows with a low framerate, the screen, but not sensible to the touch.

I don't really need to use this phone anymore, I has gone trhough a lot, and maybe was already time to give up on it, but, i would like to take everything, a lot of memorable moments in photos and everything, from it.

The problem is the following:

• It wouldn't be too difficult to use adb to unlock it and then make it appear and get everything from my usual file explorer in windows, but, i think because it is just turned on (meaning i turned it off not in purpose after the incident), it needs to be unlocked a first time for this to work.
• Same would happen with a OTG device like a mouse or keyboard, but my stupid phone always had this weird habit of having the OTG setting off (and in fact gave me problems with my headphones) and it seems no to be sensible to anything i connect by that way.

I of course know the password, even i think blind i know where each number is, etc etc... but it seems everything played a role in me breaking my phone being a hard thing to solve.

Do any of you have similar experiences? Have any of you any idea I could try to get out of this?

I have samsung galaxy s9. it runs android 10. i played a game " ants hill " on my old phone. it runs android 5. when i try to install that game on my s9 it says " this app isnt complitible with your device"

when i checkd that game is only supportd android 4,5 versions only. how can i install that game on my android 10 device?

i've checked that question on youtube and i found a way. it is sizuku app and turn on wireless usb debugging method. but usb debugging is available on upto android 11.

Right now I have a galaxy a33 and I would like to switch to a higher-end phone in the 5-600 euro range, that has a reliable and efficient cpu (like snapdragon 7 gen 3 or up), longer lasting battery and relatively clean and reliable software (so xiaomi is out of question).

I have looked at the phones in this price range, but I cannot decide because:

• -Samsung galaxy s23: Great internals, but afaik the battery life is the same or weaker than my a33, and I dont know how future proof 8 Gb of ram is
• -Motorola edge 50 pro: Great internals, looks very good but I read that the software is unreliable, as well as the frequency of updates
• -Oneplus 12R: I dont care about the camera that much, but seeing a photo taken with it was kind of disgusting. Also I dont have any experience with curved screens, but it can be an inconvenience with accidental touches, more fragile, harder to replace and harder to find a good screen protector
• -Oneplus nord 4: This is a contender along with the galaxy s23, but it has overheating/thermal throttling issues, and although I don't really play games on my phone, I'm not sure how that would affect the smoothness if I were to do some heavier tasks on a hot summer day for example.
• -Honor 200 pro: Read about some battery and software instabilities.
• -Nothing phone 2: Glass back, I'm afraid it would shatter to pieces the moment I accidentally dropped it for the second time. With ip54 only, I don't want to be scared to use my phone on a rainy day.
• -Pixel phones: Weak cpu, bad battery life

I know I have to make sacrifices and accept tradeoffs, but I feel like these would be more of an inconvenience than just a mediocre camera, or slower storage etc.

I have had my Google Pixel 3a for so e years now (2017 or 18 I think). I recently got a newer car with Android Auto. My Pixel battery has not been performing well. It cannot get me through an entire day. This started about the same time I got my new car. I don't drive long distances, and I have been charging my phone while I drive.

I am unsure if this is a coincidence given how old my phone is, if Android Auto is the culprit, or if Android Auto is a catalyst.

I would like to know if there is some troubleshooting I can do to resolve the issue or if my phone just needs replaced at this point. If it is the latter, I would be interested in replacement recommendations. I was considering the Galaxy A15 5G but saw that it is bugged with Android Auto.

Update: I did some testing, and my phone is charging faster than it is draining while I am driving and using Android Auto. Since this is my normal operation, I am wondering once again if the culprit is the age of my phone or something else.

As a specific example, today (Nov. 1, 2024), it installed a security update that "includes updates of Android security patches through Oct. 1, 2024." Having a phone that, at best, is one month out of date from the latest security patches seems a great way to leave me vulnerable to attack.

I have smart updates enabled. Why won't my phone install the most up-to-date security patches? It's a moto g 5G - 2023.

30 minutes ago everything was all okay. until i went to charge my phone and went to take a shower. I came back, then all of my audios, photos, videos got deleted!!! I scanned for viruses and there were none. i tried looking in the "recently deleted" area, there were nothing... I looked in google photos and they are still here. I don't know what caused them to vanish like that.. I dont even have a SD card.

In YouTube i see this "ezphone virus", and idk if it's real or not, i think it's fake, but i'm not certain of that. Generally the guys who make that type of video is logo kids

I recently switched over from a Pixel 7 Pro to a ROG 8 Pro. Let me just say I absolutely love this phone. Best phone I have ever had. I came from a line of Pixel phones. While I really loved those phones I was under whelmed with the specs for the Pixel 9 Pro. I play a lot of Pokemon Go and got very tired of the overheating issues as well when just using the phone in general.

With this ROG phone, it handles everything I throw at it with no throttle or overheating its great! Absolutely everything is perfect.

Except one thing that is that I cant seem to figure out. On my old Pixel phone, I had the Google Assistant perform the call screening. It was such an awesome feature and really helped spam/scam callers at bay with it. However, I cannot seem to find anywhere to get the feature to work. Even after installing the Google Calling app. I've been getting scam calls again and not having the screening feature working is a huge blow to my experience. I find myself switching SIMs back to my Pixel 7 on business trips trying to stick with it, but go back to the ROG.

What am I doing wrong and how can I get this working?

Hey all I have a Galaxy A13, which has an lcd display. I tried Opera browser the other day, and used it's 'night mode' which worked really well, it changed the colours to warmer tones. However when I use Samsung's built in eye comfort shield, and other apps from the play store, it just slaps a weird muddy brown overlay which actually sucks. So if opera can do it, is there any other app that can apply it system-wide?
